ইউনিভার্সিটি অফ ফ্রন্টিয়ার টেকনোলজি, বাংলাদেশ এর Data Science & Engineering (DSE) বিভাগের প্রথম ব্যাচ হিসেবে আমরা অত্যন্ত গর্বের সাথে জানাচ্ছি যে, ICPC Preliminary Contest 2025–এ আমাদের টিম UFTB_DSE_01 দেশের বিভিন্ন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শত শত প্রতিযোগী দলের মধ্যে 436তম স্থান অর্জন করেছে।

যেহেতু আমরা মাত্র প্রথম ব্যাচ, এবং সম্পূর্ণ নতুন বিভাগ হিসেবে প্রথমবার ICPC–তে অংশগ্রহণ করেছি—এই অর্জন আমাদের জন্য একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ মাইলফলক।

DSE বিভাগ প্রতিষ্ঠার শুরু থেকেই আমরা ছাত্রছাত্রীদের ডেটা সায়েন্স, অ্যালগরিদম, সমস্যা সমাধান দক্ষতা এবং বাস্তবমুখী প্রযুক্তি চর্চার প্রতি উৎসাহিত করে আসছি। প্রথম ব্যাচের শিক্ষার্থীরা স্বল্প অভিজ্ঞতা, সীমিত প্রস্তুতি এবং ব্যস্ত একাডেমিক সময়সূচির মধ্যেও আন্তর্জাতিক মানের এই প্রতিযোগিতায় নিজেদের জায়গা করে নিয়েছে—যা নিঃসন্দেহে প্রশংসনীয়।

এই ফলাফলের মাধ্যমে আমরা বুঝতে পারছি যে—
সঠিক গাইডলাইন,
নিয়মিত প্রোগ্রামিং চর্চা,
টিমওয়ার্ক,
এবং নিজেদের দক্ষতা উন্নয়নের দৃঢ় ইচ্ছা থাকলে আগামী বছরগুলোতে আরও অনেক বড় সাফল্য অর্জন করা সম্ভব।
আমরা বিশ্বাস করি, এই অর্জন ভবিষ্যতে DSE বিভাগের শিক্ষার্থীদের ICPC, Hackathon, Datathon এবং আন্তর্জাতিক প্রতিযোগিতায় আরো বড় অর্জনের পথ তৈরি করবে।
আগামী বছর আরও ভালো প্রস্তুতি, উন্নত ট্রেনিং প্ল্যান এবং শক্তিশালী টিমওয়ার্কের মাধ্যমে আমরা আরও উচ্চতর স্থান অর্জন করতে প্রতিশ্রুতিবদ্ধ।

DSE বিভাগের প্রথম ব্যাচের UFTB_DSE_01 টিমের সকল সদস্যকে অভিনন্দন।
তাদের এই প্রচেষ্টা ভবিষ্যত প্রজন্মের শিক্ষার্থীদের অনুপ্রাণিত করবে, এবং আমাদের লক্ষ্য Data Science & Engineering কে দেশের শীর্ষস্থানীয় একটি প্রযুক্তি বিভাগ হিসেবে প্রতিষ্ঠিত করা।

পরিশেষে, ICPC Preliminary 2025–এ অংশ নেওয়া সব দলকে অভিনন্দন এবং আমাদের যাত্রায় যারা সহযোগিতা করেছেন—শিক্ষক, মেন্টর, এবং সহপাঠী—সকলকে আন্তরিক ধন্যবাদ।

আসসালামু আলাইকুম। সকলের অবগতির জন্য জানানো যাচ্ছে যে, এই Journalist Jaman নামে পেইজটি DSE-01 ব্যাচের নাম ব্যবহার করে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষার্থীদের মধ্যে বিভাজনের সৃষ্টি করছে। যা Data Science and Engineering, UFTB বিভাগের সকল শিক্ষার্থীদের জন্য খুবই উদ্বেগজনক। সকলের প্রতি অনুরোধ থাকবে এই একাউন্টটিকে রিপোর্ট এর মাধ্যমে ডিজেবল করতে সকলে সচেষ্ট হোন।

এরই সাথে, UFTB-র সকল শিক্ষার্থীদের এই একাউন্টদের বিরুদ্ধে যথাযথ পদক্ষেপ নেয়ার জন্য অনুরোধ জানানো হলো।

We were honored to have the presence of our esteemed Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Abu Yousuf Sir, at today’s seminar.

We also had the privilege of being joined by the respected Chairman (Acting) of the Department of Data Science and Engineering, Ms. Tanjim Taharat Aurpa Ma'am, along with Md. Abul Ala Walid Sir, Sharad Hasan Sir, and S M Rajib Hossain Sir.

Their presence and valuable insights made the event truly enlightening and inspiring for all attendees.

🔍 Project vs Portfolio: What’s the Difference?

Many beginners confuse projects with a portfolio, but they’re not the same thing. Here’s the clear difference:

✅ Project

A single piece of work you complete to apply your skills.

It focuses on solving one specific problem or answering a research question.

Can be small (e.g., cleaning a dataset) or large (e.g., building a machine learning model).

Example: “Predicting house prices using Linear Regression.”

👉 A project proves you can do something.

✅ Portfolio

A collection of projects presented in an organized way.

It shows your skills, versatility, and growth over time.

Think of it as your professional showcase—like a CV but with real proof of your abilities.

Example: A website or GitHub repo with projects in data cleaning, visualization, machine learning, and deep learning.

👉 A portfolio proves your overall capability and professionalism.
