সম্প্রতি শাহবাগে পুলিশ কর্তৃক বাংলাদেশ প্রকৌশল বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় (বুয়েট) সহ বিভিন্ন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের প্রকৌশল শিক্ষার্থীদের ওপর লাঠিচার্জ, জলকামান, সাউন্ড গ্রেনেড ও টিয়ারশেল হামলার ঘটনায় আমরা গভীর ক্ষোভ ও উদ্বেগ প্রকাশ করছি। শান্তিপূর্ণ শিক্ষার্থীদের ওপর এ ধরনের অমানবিক আক্রমণ সম্পূর্ণ অযৌক্তিক, অগ্রহণযোগ্য ও নিন্দনীয়।

আমরা, ইসলামিক ইউনিভার্সিটি অব টেকনোলজির (আইইউটি) সাধারণ শিক্ষার্থীরা, চলমান ন্যায্য আন্দোলনের সাথে একাত্মতা প্রকাশ করছি। বয়কটের ডাকে সাড়া দিয়ে আমরাও আগামীকাল সব ধরনের ক্লাস বর্জন করছি। একইসাথে, আগামীকাল শাহবাগে আন্দোলনরত ছাত্রদের সাথে আমরাও যোগ দিচ্ছি, ইনশাআল্লাহ।

শিক্ষার্থীদের ন্যায্য অধিকার আদায় না হওয়া পর্যন্ত আমরা আন্দোলনের সাথে সংহতি বজায় রাখব, ইনশাআল্লাহ।

বাংলাদেশ প্রকৌশল বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের প্রাক্তন শিক্ষার্থী এবং সহকারী প্রকৌশলী রোকনুজ্জামান রোকন (ইইই-১৭, বুয়েট) কে ২৫ আগস্ট ২০২৫ বিকেলে ফেরদৌসকে একটি অফিসে ডেকে নিয়ে হত্যার হুমকি দেওয়া হয় ও অশ্লীল ভাষায় গালিগালাজ করা হয়।
ঘটনার বিবরণ অনুযায়ী, বেগম রোকেয়া বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় (বেরোবি) এর শিক্ষার্থীদের আন্দোলনের সাথে সম্পৃক্ত স্মারকলিপি প্রদানের পর বেরোবির শিক্ষার্থীরা চলে গেলে ফেরদৌস অফিসের নির্বাহী প্রকৌশলী গোলাম হোসেন (প্রকৌশল ডিপ্লোমা ধারী) তার কক্ষে প্রকৌশলী রোকনুজ্জামান রোকনকে ডেকে নেন। সেখানে উপস্থিত প্রায় ২০-২৫ জন প্রকৌশল ডিপ্লোমা ধারী কর্মচারী-কর্মকর্তা, যাদের মধ্যে সহকারী প্রকৌশলী মাজেদুল, সহকারী প্রকৌশলী সারোয়ার জামান সাইদ, উপসহকারী প্রকৌশলী লিয়াকত, সাদ্দাম ও গোলাম কিবরিয়া সোহান ছিলেন, তারা মিলে রোকনুজ্জামান রোকনকে ঘিরে ধরে অশ্লীল ভাষায় গালিগালাজ করতে থাকে এবং জবাই করে হত্যার হুমকি দেন।

আমরা, ইসলামিক ইউনিভার্সিটি অব টেকনোলজি (IUT) এর শিক্ষার্থীরা এই ঘটনায় গভীর উদ্বেগ প্রকাশ করছি এবং দোষীদের বিরুদ্ধে দ্রুত শাস্তিমূলক ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণের দাবি জানাচ্ছি। একজন প্রকৌশলীর মর্যাদা ক্ষুণ্ণ হওয়া শুধু ব্যক্তি আক্রমণ নয়, বরং এটি প্রকৌশলীদের সার্বিক নিরাপত্তা ও মহিমার উপর আঘাত।
আমরা স্পষ্ট জানাতে চাই-
১। এ ধরনের সন্ত্রাসী আচরণ কোনোভাবেই বরদাস্ত করা হবে না।
২। প্রকৌশলীদের নিরাপত্তা নিশ্চিত করতে অভিযুক্তদের দ্রুত বহিষ্কার করতে হবে।
৩। অভিযুক্ত ব্যক্তিদের বিরুদ্ধে ১২ ঘন্টার মধ্যে আইনগত ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণ করতে হবে।
৪। অন্যথায় প্রকৌশলীরা দেশব্যাপী আরো কঠোর আন্দোলন কর্মসূচি দিতে বাধ্য হবে।
আমরা দৃঢ়ভাবে জানাচ্ছি- প্রকৌশলীদের সম্মান ও নিরাপত্তার প্রশ্নে কোনো আপস হবে না।

We, the students of the IUT batch 21, are issuing this statement to publicly declare our collective disapproval and formal boycott of Sadman Ahmed Siam (CSE 21) for his actions that, in our view, directly contradict the teachings of Islam, the laws of Bangladesh, and the values of our university.

Sadman Ahmed Siam recently published a Facebook post promoting LGBTQ+ ideology and defending Sahara Hussain, who is allegedly responsible for issuing death threats against two respected educators: Dr. Sorowar Hussain (Assistant Professor, IUB) and Asif Mahtab Utsho (Former Faculty, BRAC University). While we oppose any form of violence, we cannot ignore the gravity of defending such accused individuals, especially alongside endorsement of ideologies forbidden in our religion and legal system.

Promoting LGBTQ+ activities conflicts with the Holy Qur’an, as shown in the story of Prophet Lut (AS) about the people of S***m and Gomorrah, where such acts led to divine punishment. Section 377 of Bangladesh’s Penal Code criminalizes carnal in*******se “against the order of nature,” punishable by imprisonment and fine.

As students of the Islamic University of Technology (IUT), established to serve the Muslim Ummah, we are dedicated to maintaining an environment that reflects Islamic values. We
cannot accept the promotion of ideologies against our deen and the university's vision.

Therefore, we declare a complete boycott of Sadman Ahmed Siam from all batch-related academic, social, and extracurricular activities. This decision is made to uphold the integrity of our faith, constitution, and university goals. We respectfully ask the university administration to seriously review the matter and take appropriate action against this individual.

Islamic University of Technology (IUT)

The students of the Islamic University of Technology stand unshaken in our solidarity with the oppressed people of Gaza. On Monday, April 7th, we answer the global call for action—no classes, no labs, no submission, no Office duties. Our classrooms will be empty, our voices loud, and our resistance unbroken.

We call upon every student, every educator, and every conscience-driven individual to join this peaceful resistance.

We are deeply saddened and shocked by the recent violence against students at Khulna University of Engineering & Technology(KUET). Educational institutions should be places of knowledge, unity, and safety—not fear and bloodshed.
We strongly condemn all forms of violence and call upon the authorities to ensure justice and protection for students. No cause justifies harming others, and we must stand together against such brutality.

Furthermore, we believe that student politics should never take precedence over the safety and well-being of students. Universities should remain free from political violence, allowing students to focus on education and personal growth in a peaceful environment.

Our prayers are with the injured, and we hope for their swift recovery. May peace, justice, and wisdom prevail over hatred and aggression.

It has come to our attention that a misleading email, falsely claiming to represent students, has been circulated using a fake email address ([email protected]). We want to make it absolutely clear that this email does not reflect the views or sentiments of the student body.

The language used in this email, particularly the offensive remarks directed at our respected faculty members and university authorities, is completely UNACCEPTABLE and goes against the values of our academic community. We strongly condemn and protest such disrespectful and inappropriate language.

We urge everyone to remain vigilant against such false communications and ensure that all concerns are addressed through proper channels, maintaining a culture of respect and constructive dialogue. As Students we want IUT to be a place where students and faculty engage with integrity, professionalism, and mutual respect.

On January 28th, in the presence of the Guardian Representatives, Student Representatives, IUT Authority, OIC delegation, and the Board of Governors, H.E. The Assistant Secretary General himself assured students and Guardians that returning to class would be entirely up to the students. They could rejoin whenever they felt comfortable, and the decision rested solely with them.

Yet, despite this clear commitment, the University Authority has now issued a notice instructing students to resume classes from February 3rd—directly contradicting the agreement made during the meeting.

How can we trust an authority that changes its stance so abruptly? This raises serious concerns about transparency and the consistency of their decision-making process. If promises made in front of so many witnesses can be broken this easily, what does that say about their integrity?

Until our short-term demands are met and we receive a written confirmation with a timeline for the long-term demands, we will not return to classes. Furthermore, if those involved in cases of physical and mental assault are not terminated, the boycott will continue. CLASSES ARE BOYCOTTED.
