আমরা ই আতাতুর্কিয়? Mizanur Rahman. In March, 1981, the ambassador of Turkey in Bangladesh Mr. Ilter Turkman. A day before i.e. M. Mr. A.M.A.
In the year 1939, when Ataturk High School was established, the founders even could not imagine that this school will transform into a friendship bo***ge between Bangladesh and Turkey. Kemal Ataturk created a legend of sacrifice, selflessness and revolutions which gave him the title of father of the nation of Turkey. This example of sacrifice and revolutionary zeal also transformed Kamal Ataturk a
s the legendary leader of whole Muslim world. To uphold the memory of him, the newly built school at Dagonbhuiyan was named to commemorate the legendary figure as Ataturk High School with the sole aim of respect, not for any hope of money or help from Turkey. We came to know about this from the history of the school written by Mr. As time passed, latter on, a grant was received from Turkey for this school.A small brief is given here for information of all students, teachers, guardians, intellectuals, and old students of this school at large. Metin Sirman came to visit the school along with the foreign minister Mr. on March 09, at the state guest house ‘Padma’ a team of 11 members headed by Mr. Habibullah and accompanied by Kazi Fazlur Rahman met the foreign Minister of Turkey. In team of 11 members led by Mr. Habibullah were M/s. Mojibul Haider Chowdhury, Abdur Rab, Mofizur Rahman, Prof. Shafiullah, Abdul Awal Mintoo, Mozibur Rahman Chowdhury, AKM. Waziullah, Abdul Wahab and Bazlur Rahman. Habibullah took over as the Chairman of the governing body of the school in December 1981. At that time one of the brilliant ex-student of this school Kazi Fazlur Rahman was the education secretary of Bangladesh Govt. To tell the truth, Mr. Habibullah was inspired by him to take the responsibility of the Chairman of the governing body. Kazi Fazlur Rahman along with the then Finance Minister of Bangladesh Mr. Muhit went to Turkey to attend a meeting of the Islami Development Bank in the month of June, 1982. At that time Kazi. Fazlur Rahman informed the president of Turkey Mr. Kenon Evron about the Ataturk High school in Bangladesh. Kenon Evron showed lot of interest and expressed his desire to visit Ataturk High School in an opportunemoment. Returning from Turkey, Mr. Rahman informed that the president of Turkey would visit Ataturk High School during his visit to Bangladesh.
