ব্যারিস্টার আর অ্যাডভোকেট—দু'জনই আইনজীবী, কিন্তু পার্থক্যটা কোথায়? ⚖️

আমাদের মধ্যে অনেকেই ভাবি ব্যারিস্টার আর অ্যাডভোকেট মানে একই জিনিস। আসলে দু’জনই আইন পেশার মানুষ হলেও তাদের যোগ্যতা আর কাজের ধরনে কিছু পরিষ্কার পার্থক্য আছে।

🔹 ব্যারিস্টার (Barrister)
ব্যারিস্টার হতে হলে যুক্তরাজ্যে Bar-at-Law করতে হয়। তারপর Inn of Court থেকে Call to the Bar হতে হয়—যা বেশ মর্যাদাপূর্ণ একটি অর্জন। সাধারণত তারা উচ্চ আদালতে জটিল মামলার যুক্তিতর্কে বিশেষ দক্ষ হয়ে থাকেন।

🔹 অ্যাডভোকেট (Advocate)
অ্যাডভোকেট হওয়া তুলনামূলকভাবে আমাদের দেশে সহজ—এলএলবি শেষ করে বার কাউন্সিলের পরীক্ষা পাস করলেই একজন অ্যাডভোকেট হিসেবে আদালতে কাজ করা যায়। তারা সরাসরি ক্লায়েন্ট নিয়ে মামলা পরিচালনা করতে পারেন।

👉 বাংলাদেশের বাস্তবতা:
এক কথায়—সব ব্যারিস্টার অ্যাডভোকেট, কিন্তু সব অ্যাডভোকেট ব্যারিস্টার নন। ব্যারিস্টার হলো বিদেশি প্রশিক্ষণভিত্তিক টাইটেল; আর অ্যাডভোকেট হলো আমাদের আদালতে কার্যকর আইনজীবীর উপাধি।

জেনে রাখুন কাজে আসবে!!
Verb of perception/sensation
(See, hear, watch, notice, feel etc.)
verb of perception/sensation + object + bare infinitive/present participle দুটোই সঠিক।
I saw him cross/crossing the road.
এক্ষেত্রে bare infinitive/base form দ্বারা সম্পূর্ণ কাজ বা complete action বুঝায়। আর present participle দ্বারা অসম্পূর্ণ কাজ অথবা পুনরাবৃত্তি হয়েছে এমন কাজ বুঝাতে ব্যবহৃত হয়।
I saw him cross the road.
= I saw that he crossed the road.
I saw him crossing the road.
= I saw that he was crossing the road.
Or, I saw him when he was crossing the road.
