On May 12th, 2026, we celebrated International Nurses Day with great enthusiasm and pride. The day began with a vibrant rally from our college premises to the nearby area, promoting awareness, unity, and the importance of the nursing profession in society. Students, teachers, and staff actively participated in the rally with banners, posters, and slogans dedicated to nurses and healthcare services.
A special program followed in our college auditorium, honoring the vital role of nurses in healthcare and patient care. Distinguished guests, including Chairman Md. Abul Kalam Sheikh, Md madam Kamrun Nahar,Board Member Ashok Kumar Shingho Roy, Principal Sondha Mandal, and Rakhi Nandi of Bir Muktijudda S.A Salam Nursing Institute, joined our faculty members and students for the celebration.
The program included inspiring speeches, discussions, and motivational messages highlighting the dedication, compassion, sacrifice, and hard work of nurses around the world. The guests emphasized that nurses are the backbone of the healthcare system and play a crucial role in improving patient care and community health. especially spoke about the importance of clinical practice and professional responsibility in nursing education.
International Nurses Day is celebrated every year on 12th May to honor the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing. This special day recognizes the endless contributions of nurses in saving lives, caring for patients, and supporting communities during both normal times and health emergencies.
The celebration created a sense of inspiration, respect, and appreciation among all participants. It was truly a meaningful, educational, and memorable event for everyone at Z.M Nursing College, Faridpur.
