TAG QUESTION
ইংরেজি Tag Question-এর সব গুরুত্বপূর্ণ Rules
Tag Question হলো মূল বাক্যের শেষে ব্যবহৃত একটি ছোট প্রশ্ন, যার মাধ্যমে সাধারণত হ্যাঁ/না উত্তর প্রত্যাশা করা হয়।
১. সাধারণ নিয়ম
Positive Statement → Negative Tag
He is a student, isn’t he?
She is happy, isn’t she?
Negative Statement → Positive Tag
He isn’t a student, is he?
She isn’t happy, is she?
২. Auxiliary Verb-এর ব্যবহার
মূল বাক্যে is, am, are, was, were, have, has, had, can, could, will, would, shall, should, may, might, must ইত্যাদি Auxiliary Verb থাকলে Tag Question-এ সাধারণত সেই Auxiliary Verb-ই ব্যবহৃত হয়।
She is happy, isn’t she?
They can swim, can’t they?
He will come, won’t he?
You have finished the work, haven’t you?
৩. Auxiliary Verb না থাকলে
Simple Present Tense → do/does
He plays football, doesn’t he?
They play football, don’t they?
Simple Past Tense → did
He went there, didn’t he?
They played cricket, didn’t they?
৪. I am-এর বিশেষ নিয়ম
I am → aren’t I?
I am late, aren’t I?
I am your friend, aren’t I?
৫. Imperative Sentence-এর নিয়ম
আদেশ, অনুরোধ বা নির্দেশ বোঝালে সাধারণত will you? / won’t you? / would you? / can you? ব্যবহার করা হয়।
Open the door, will you?
Please help me, will you?
Have a seat, won’t you?
৬. Let’s-এর নিয়ম
Let’s → shall we?
Let’s go outside, shall we?
Let’s play cricket, shall we?
৭. Let me / Let us
Let me → shall I?
Let me go, shall I?
Let me help you, shall I?
Let us যদি প্রস্তাব/অনুমতির অর্থে ব্যবহৃত হয়, পরীক্ষায় সাধারণত will you? ব্যবহৃত হয়।
Let us go, will you?
৮. Negative অর্থবোধক শব্দ থাকলে
never, nobody, no one, nothing, hardly, scarcely, rarely, seldom, few, little ইত্যাদি শব্দ থাকলে বাক্যটি অর্থগতভাবে Negative ধরা হয়। তাই Tag Question হবে Positive।
He never tells a lie, does he?
Nobody came, did they?
She hardly works, does she?
He seldom goes there, does he?
Note:
few ও little negative অর্থ প্রকাশ করে। তবে a few ও a little positive অর্থ প্রকাশ করে।
৯. Everybody / Everyone / Someone / Somebody
Everybody, Everyone, Someone, Somebody Subject হলে Tag Question-এ they
