কাহারোল উপজেলায় কোন কলেজ না থাকায় এলাকার গন্যমান্য ও হিতৈষি ব্যত্তিগণ ২০-৪-১৯৮৪ সালে কলেজ প্রতিষ্ঠার প্রথম সভা করেন। ১৯৮৬-১৯৮৭ ইং সালে কলেজটি স্বীকৃতি প্রাপ্ত হয়। ১৯৯০ সালে বিজ্ঞান বিভাগ চালু হয়। ১৯৯৪ সালে কলেজটি হায়ার এডুকেশন ডেভেলপমেন্ট প্রকল্পের আওতাভুক্ত হয় । ২০০৭ - ২০০৮ শিক্ষা বর্ষে ডিগ্রী কোর্স চালু হয়।
