3D modeling has become an essential skill in today's world, highly required for rapid prototyping, robotics, and beyond. That is why we are bringing you a special 1-day 3D Modeling - CAD Workshop for Absolute Beginners!

This workshop is jointly organized by the Bangladesh Robot Olympiad and the Bangladesh Open Source Network. It is designed for students with no prior experience in 3D design, providing them with the opportunity to learn the fundamental concepts of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) through structured, hands-on learning.

Eligibility: Students in Grades 4-12 with no prior 3D modeling or CAD experience.

Suitable Participants:
a) Students with no background in 3D modeling who are interested in developing foundational CAD skills.
b) Students who may find independent online CAD tutorials challenging and would benefit from guided instruction in a structured classroom environment.
c) Students who wish to develop spatial thinking and structural design logic independently, and who are interested in bringing their ideas to life for 3D printing, robotics, or engineering projects.
d) The workshop will introduce the fundamental concepts of CAD, including navigating the 3D workspace, 2D sketching, extruding, modifying 3D shapes, basic assemblies, and preparing models for 3D printing. Each topic will be reinforced through practical, problem-solving design exercises.

Registration fee: 1500 Taka
Participants are required to complete the payment using the bKash payment option during registration.
Registration Deadline: 6 October 2026
Important Notice: Registration is non-refundable and cannot be cancelled.

Workshop Schedule: 9 October 2026
Time: 10 AM - 5:00 PM
Venue: Dhanmondi, Dhaka

Additional Information:
a) Every participant will receive a certificate upon completion of the workshop.
b) Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop (and a computer mouse, which is highly recommended for CAD), although it is not mandatory. Those without a laptop will be paired with other participants for collaborative practice sessions.
c) No food will be provided during the workshop. Participants may bring their own food if necessary.
d) For identity verification, participants must bring a school ID card or birth certificate.

The International Team Selection Camp for the 28th International Robot Olympiad (IRO) was held on September 18-19 at Daffodil International Academy in Dhaka, as the next stage of the IRO Bangladesh Open 2026.

The two-day non-residential camp brought together winners from the Creative, Physical Computing and Mission Challenge categories of the national round. Participants were assessed individually through a range of robotics and problem-solving activities to evaluate their technical skills, creativity and ability to tackle challenges independently.

Participants received training on this year's IRO theme, Cultural Heritage Service Robots, along with robotics research methods and subtheme analysis.
They also took part in a series of individual robotics activities, including different sensor and actuator challenges, designed to assess their technical skills, problem-solving abilities and practical approach to robotics.

The Bangladesh team for the 28th IRO will be selected based on the participants' overall performance at the camp. The selected team will represent Bangladesh at the international robot olympiad in Vienna, Austria, in January 2027.

Over the two days of the IRO Bangladesh Open 2026 National Round, our judges spent hours observing, discussing and evaluating the participants' work.

Each category required careful attention to its own rules and challenges. The judges examined robots and projects, asked questions, discussed technical details and made decisions throughout the competition.

We are pleased to introduce our panel of judges and sincerely thank each of them for their time, expertise, and attention at the IRO Bangladesh Open 2026.

Your contribution helped us conduct a fair and well organised National Round.

Behind every successful robotics competition, there are people working quietly in the background to make it happen.

At the IRO Bangladesh Open 2026 National Round, our volunteers and referees were those people.

They kept discipline, guided participants, checked robotics equipment, supported judges, managed the stage and time, distributed food and kits, handled storage, and helped organise the robotics and drone shows. Often, they were the first to arrive and among the last to leave.

But beyond the tasks, what stood out was their willingness to help whenever and wherever they were needed.

To every volunteer and referee who gave their time, energy and patience, thank you. We are truly grateful.
