World University of Bangladesh Participates in NSU-BSMS International Program on Simulation and Digital Innovation

A group of 18 faculty members from various departments of the World University of Bangladesh (WUB), under the leadership of Professor Dr. Mohammad Quamruzzaman, Dean, Faculty of Science and Engineering, WUB- participated in a day-long program on Simulation and Digital Innovation jointly organized by North South University (NSU) and the Bangladesh Society for Modeling and Simulation (BSMS) on 12 June 2026 at the NSU campus.

A Friendly football Match on the occasion of the FIFA World Cup 2026, jointly organized by the WUB Textile Club and WUB Fashion Club, was held with great enthusiasm and active participation by students of the Department of Textile Engineering & Fashion Design, World University of Bangladesh (WUB).

The event brought together football enthusiasts from across the department, fostering a spirit of friendship, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The exciting match provided students with an opportunity to engage in healthy competition while celebrating their shared passion for football.

Following a spirited contest, the Argentina Supporters Team emerged victorious with a 2–0 win, demonstrating excellent teamwork and determination. Both teams displayed remarkable dedication, skill, and sportsmanlike conduct throughout the match, making the event enjoyable and memorable for all participants and spectators.

The prize-giving ceremony, team celebrations, enthusiastic support from the gallery, and the presence of respected faculty members added a special dimension to the occasion, reflecting the vibrant extracurricular culture of the university.

The Department extends its sincere appreciation to all faculty members, students, organizers, volunteers, and supporters whose contributions ensured the successful completion of this event. Such initiatives play an important role in promoting student engagement, leadership, teamwork, and a sense of community within the university.

The Department of Textile Engineering & Fashion Design of World University of Bangladesh (WUB) successfully celebrated its 17th Anniversary and Farewell 2026 on 13 June 2026 at the university’s permanent campus in Uttara, Dhaka.

The event was graced by Professor Dr. M. Nurul Islam, Honorable Pro Vice-Chancellor of World University of Bangladesh, as the Chief Guest. Special guests included Professor Zaki Imam, Registrar, WUB; Professor Dr. AQM Shafiul Azam, Dean, Academic Affairs and Research; Professor Dr. Mohammad Quamruzzaman, Dean, Faculty of Science and Engineering; Professor M. Moqbul Hossain, Controller of Examination, WUB; Dr. Ruhul Amin Khan, Director, Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission; and renowned fashion designer Chandra Shekhar Shaha, Chief Consultant of Aarong, BRAC. The program was presided over by Md. Mostafizur Rahman, Head of the Department of Textile Engineering & Fashion Design,

The formal session was held in the Founding Treasurer Morsheda Choudhury Auditorium, where distinguished guests, faculty members, alumni, and students gathered to celebrate the department’s achievements and bid farewell to graduating students. The program highlighted the department’s remarkable growth, academic excellence, research contributions, industry engagement, and the success of its graduates in national and international arenas.

A special crest-giving ceremony was organized to honor the graduating students. Alumni representatives also shared their experiences and encouraged current students to pursue excellence in their academic and professional careers.

The celebration concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony marking the department’s 17th anniversary, followed by a vibrant cultural program featuring performances by students. The event provided an excellent platform for strengthening the bond among faculty members, students, alumni, and industry stakeholders.

WUB expands research infrastructure, secures 133rd position in WURI 2026

WUB currently operates more than 55 modern laboratories for students of Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), Mechatronics and other departments.

Students regularly take part in laboratory work, project design and research-based academic activities as part of their studies.

The university's engineering programmes follow an Outcome-Based Education framework.

The World University of Bangladesh (WUB), through its Career Counseling Centre (CCC), organized the English Language Course (ELC) Completion Certificate Awarding Ceremony for the successful students of the Fall Semester 2025 on 09 June 2026 at the Founding Treasurer Morsheda Choudhury Auditorium.

The ceremony celebrated the achievements of students who successfully completed the English for Academic Excellence (EAE) Course, a specialized program designed to enhance English language proficiency through continuous practice and interactive learning. The course focuses on developing the four fundamental language skills- Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing- enabling students to communicate effectively and confidently in academic, professional, and social settings.

Under the Shade of Green: Celebrating World Environment Day

On the occasion of World Environment Day and to increase awareness about environmental conservation, a day-long environmental program, ‘Under the Shade of Green,’ was organized by the World University of Bangladesh (WUB) Friends Association. The program, which consisted of a tree plantation, tree exhibition, fruit distribution, discussion meeting, and cultural program, was filled with spontaneous participation of the students.
