আজ আমরা সমস্বরে অভিবাদন জানাতে চাই আমাদের বিনিময় কার্যক্রম LINC’র প্রাক্তন বাংলাদেশী শিক্ষার্থী এবং বর্তমানে বিশ্বের অন্যতম বৃহত্তম বেসরকারী প্রতিষ্ঠান ব্র্যাক’র নিরাপত্তা বিশেষজ্ঞ হিসেবে কর্মরত জুনায়েদ নুর আলমকে।

নুর’র বিনিময় কার্যক্রমের অভিজ্ঞতা তাঁকে লৈঙ্গিক অসমতা, মানব পাচার, যুব ক্ষমতায়ন ও সামাজিক অবিচার সংক্রান্ত নানা সমস্যা নিরসনে কাজ করতে অনুপ্রাণিত করেছে। বিনিময় কার্যক্রম চলাকালে নুর মানব-সৃষ্ট ও প্রাকৃতিক দুর্যোগে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত বাস্তুচ্যুত মানুষদের নিয়ে কর্মরত বিভিন্ন বেসরকারী সংস্থা পরিদর্শন করেন। এসব আলোচনা তাঁকে ২০১৫ সালে নেপালের বিধ্বংসী ভূমিকম্পে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত মানুষদের সহায়তা প্রদানে ব্যাপকভাবে সাহায্য করেছে। নুর সারা ঢাকা শহর থেকে ত্রাণ সামগ্রী সংগ্রহে সমন্বয়কের দায়িত্ব পালন করেন যা নেপালের সাবেক রাষ্ট্রপতি ড. রাম বরণ যাদব কর্তৃক প্রশংসিত হয়েছিলো।

মডেল ইউএন’র অন্যতম পথিকৃৎ হিসেবে নুর ঢাকাস্থ যুক্তরাষ্ট্র দূতাবাসের পাবলিক অ্যাফেয়ার্স বিভাগের আয়োজনে ঢাকায় অনুষ্ঠিত প্রথম মডেল দক্ষিণ এশীয় আঞ্চলিক সহযোগিতা কার্যক্রমে অংশ নেন। মডেল সার্ক হলো বাস্তবের প্রতিরূপ কৃত্রিম শিক্ষা পদ্ধতি (educational simulation) ও শিক্ষা প্রতিযোগিতা যেখানে ভবিষ্যৎ নীতিপ্রণেতারা কূটনীতি, শান্তি ও স্থিতিশীলতা, সংঘাত নিরসন, ও আঞ্চলিক সম্পর্ক বিষয়ে শিখতে পারেন।

আগামী শনিবার আমরা কাকে নিয়ে আসছি জানতে চোখ রাখুন।

Today, we want to give a shoutout to 🇧🇩 Zunayeed Noor Alam, a LINC program alumnus currently working as a Safeguarding Specialist at BRAC, one of the largest NGOs in the world.

Noor’s exchange experience has inspired him to work on solving issues such as gender inequality, human trafficking, youth disempowerment, and social injustice. During his exchange program, Noor visited various NGOs working with displaced communities affected by man-made and natural disasters. These discussions helped him tremendously in providing support to those affected by the devastating earthquake in Nepal in 2015. Noor coordinated the collection of relief materials from all over Dhaka, which was appreciated by the former President of Nepal, Dr. Ram Baran Yadav.

As one of the Model UN pioneers in Bangladesh, Noor was part of the first Model South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Summit in Dhaka, organized by U.S. Embassy Dhaka’s Public Affairs Section. Model SAARC is an educational simulation and academic competition in which future policy makers learn about diplomacy, peace and stability, conflict resolution, and regional relations.
