Elemental Imprints: The Jute Made Pavilion – is a design competition and research-based lab inviting architecture students and recent graduates to explore innovative architectural possibilities using jute as a sustainable material. The initiative is being organized by the Dhaka Lab in collaboration with Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) and BRAC University.
The lab will be guided by architect Marina Tabassum and scientist Dr. Mubarak Ahmed Khan. Selected finalists will have the opportunity to further develop and build their pavilion proposal, participate in the Bio Design Lab South Asia exhibition in New Delhi in 2027, and lead an international workshop at Max Mueller Bhavan New Delhi alongside participants from Goethe-Instituts across South Asia.
