Stamford’s journalism students visit Sreemangal on an academic field trip

Students from the 84th and 85th batches of Stamford University's Department of Journalism and Media Studies visited Sreemangal in Moulvibazar on September 3–4, 2026. This trip was part of their academic activities for three courses: Photojournalism, Editing, and Feature & Creative Writing.

They represented their department with confidence, delivering their best performance on stage. Their dedicated preparation, strong arguments, and overall excellence made the department proud.

Stamford Journalism Students Explore the World of Radio at Bangladesh Betar.

Students from the 80th and 81st batches of the Department of Journalism and Media Studies at Stamford University Bangladesh visited Bangladesh Betar as part of their academic field visit for the 'Radio Reporting & Program' course. Led by Lecturer Fahrista Siddique, the visit helped students connect classroom lessons with real-world radio broadcasting.

During the tour, Director Md. Bashir Uddin shared insights into radio operations, while Regional Director Prem Gopal Haldar explained how news is covered and how different radio programs are run. Sub-Regional Director Md. Habibur Rahman emphasized the importance and challenges of radio today, contrasting government and public media. Regional Director ABM Mahbubur Rahman discussed Bangladesh Betar’s future plans, offering students a broader view of radio’s evolving role.

Stamford Journalism Students Visit Prothom Alo for Practical Media Experience
Students from the 83rd and 84th batches of the Department of Journalism and Media Studies at Stamford University Bangladesh visited the offices of Prothom Alo as part of an academic media visit under the supervision of Lecturer Fahrista Siddique.

The Department of Journalism and Media Studies at Stamford University Bangladesh organized a special recognition program titled ‘Folabortan’ to honor students for their academic achievements, creative work, skills, classroom performance, and co-curricular activities.

The program was held on 18 August (Tuesday) in the auditorium of the university’s Siddheswari campus. A total of 71 students received certificates and recognition across 19 categories, based on their academic results, classroom performance, skills, creative activities, and participation in co-curricular programs during the semester.

Professor Dr. Sharif Nafe As-Saber, Vice-Chancellor of Stamford University Bangladesh, attended the event as the chief guest.
Professor Quazi Abdul Mannan, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and Chairman of the Department of Journalism and Media Studies, inaugurated the program.

Based on student feedback, the initiative assessed students not just on academic achievements but also on their creative skills and projects. ‘Folabortan’ united teachers and students, functioning beyond a simple awards event; it acted as a special platform to cultivate the talents and potential of future media experts. Faculty members from the Department of Journalism and Media Studies, along with students, also attended the program.
