On Saturday, at the 𝐌𝐚'𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐀𝐥-𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐡 Introductory Session for Parents, Ustaz Abu Shamil — a Talib-ul-Ilm from Al-Qassim, Saudi Arabia — shared a reminder that every parent needs to hear.

We often expect our children to excel in studies, earn good grades, and secure a bright future. But Ustaz asked us a deeper question —

Are we asking our children for the things that will truly benefit us in the Aakhirah?

As parents, our greatest expectation from our children should not stop at worldly success. It should be rooted in something far more lasting — a child who remembers us in their Du'a, who carries the Deen, and who becomes a source of Sadaqah Jariyah for us after we are gone.

May Allah ﷻ grant us children who are a coolness of our eyes in this world and a source of benefit for us in the Hereafter. Ameen.
