Day 1 of the 2-Day School-Based 1st Debate Festival 2026 has successfully concluded at BUBT.

The opening day featured engaging and thought-provoking debates, where participating students demonstrated their critical thinking, reasoning, confidence, and communication skills. The vibrant sessions provided an inspiring platform for young minds to exchange ideas, analyze different perspectives, and articulate their arguments with confidence.

As the first day comes to an end, the excitement continues for the final day of the festival. We look forward to another day of meaningful discussions, compelling arguments, and inspiring performances.

A Meaningful Session of Interaction & Engagement

Student Welfare Office, BUBT, hosted an engaging Interactive Session with the Intake/Section In-Charge, bringing together university leadership and the academic community for meaningful discussions on various academic and administrative matters.

The session was graced by Prof. Dr. A B M Shawkat Ali, Vice Chancellor, BUBT, as the Chief Guest, with Dr. Md. Aslam Uddin, Associate Professor of Marketing & Director, Student Welfare, BUBT, serving as the Session Chair.

The session provided a valuable platform to discuss existing challenges, explore possible solutions, and share constructive suggestions for improving academic and administrative processes. The open exchange of ideas also contributed to strengthening communication, coordination, and collaboration within the BUBT community.

Congratulations to Kazi Rizwan Hossain Rifat, a proud BUBT alumnus, on his upcoming PhD journey at Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL), Malaysia.

A graduate of BBA (Intake 44) and MBA (Intake 56) from BUBT, with Human Resource Management (HRM) as his major in both programs, his achievement is a testament to his dedication, perseverance, and academic excellence.

Software Development Idea Pitching & Project Showcasing, organized by the BASIS Students’ Forum of BUBT Chapter Club in collaboration with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), BUBT, concluded with a memorable Prize Giving & Certificate Distribution Ceremony. The event provided students with a platform to present their software development ideas and showcase their projects, allowing them to demonstrate their creativity, technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and innovative thinking while connecting academic knowledge with practical, industry-ready solutions.

The Prize Giving & Certificate Distribution Ceremony was graced by 𝗗𝗿. 𝗠𝘂𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗱 𝗔𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗿 𝗥𝗮𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗻, Dean, Faculty of Computer Science & Artificial Intelligence, BUBT and Advisor, BASIS Students’ Forum of BUBT Chapter Club, who attended as the Chief Guest, and 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗗𝗿. 𝗠𝗱. 𝗔𝗵𝘀𝗮𝗻 𝗛𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗯, Chairman, Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), BUBT and Chief Moderator, BASIS Students’ Forum of BUBT Chapter Club, who attended as the Session Chair. Their valuable presence, guidance, and encouragement added special significance to the ceremony and inspired the participating students to continue developing their ideas and skills.

The event also featured an esteemed panel of judges who brought valuable expertise from technology, industry, innovation, research, and leadership to evaluate the participants’ ideas and projects. The successful completion of the Software Development Idea Pitching & Project Showcasing reflects a shared effort by the organizers, faculty members, judges, participants, volunteers, and guests. Their combined contribution made the event a meaningful platform for learning, innovation, and collaboration. The BASIS Students’ Forum of BUBT Chapter Club expresses its sincere gratitude to everyone who supported and contributed to the initiative. Department of Law and Justice, Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT), organized a seminar titled “Practical Aspects of a Criminal Case on Police Investigation” on 19 August 2026 at the BUBT International Conference Hall.

The seminar featured an insightful session led by Mohammad Shahjahan, PhD, Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Armed Police Battalion, as the Resource Person. Prof. Dr. A B M Shawkat Ali, Honorable Vice Chancellor, BUBT, graced the event as the Chief Guest, while Prof. Dr. Syed Sarfaraj Hamid, Dean, Faculty of Law, BUBT, attended as the Special Guest. The session was chaired by Ariful Islam, Assistant Professor and Chairman, Department of Law and Justice, BUBT.

The program provided students with valuable practical insights into police investigation and the procedural aspects of criminal cases.

National Championship Trophy Comes Home to Debating Club of BUBT!

Competing against 24 universities, Debating Club of BUBT demonstrated exceptional debating excellence, confidence, and determination throughout the tournament. Their remarkable journey reflects the spirit of perseverance and teamwork that led them to the ultimate achievement.

From defeating Jahangirnagar University in the Semi-Final to overcoming the University of Barishal in the Grand Final, our talented debaters emerged as the National Champions. Congratulations to Debating Club of BUBT for bringing home the prestigious championship trophy and making the BUBT family proud.
