The Dhaka Translation Center (DTC) celebrates the rich Bangladeshi literary tradition by encouraging a greater exchange with contemporary world literature.

The Dhaka Translation Center (DTC) at the University of Liberal Arts (ULAB) answers a long-felt need in our cultural arena by facilitating, primarily, the translation of works of literary merit from Bengali into English, and into Bengali from English and other languages. The Center also provides fellowships and training workshops in an effort to develop a strong cadre of literary translators. The

Blue Venom and Forbidden Incense, two novellas are by the most prolific and versatile writer of Bangladesh Syed Shamsul Haq.

Blue Venom tells the story of a middle-aged middle manager who is arrested and taken to a cell, where he is slowly tortured to death for being a namesake of the rebel poet Kazi Nazrul Islam.
