ঢাকার পল্লবীতে ৭ বছর বয়সী এক শিশুকে ধর্ষণ ও নির্মম হত্যার ঘটনায় এসওএস চিলড্রেন’স ভিলেজেস বাংলাদেশ গভীর শোক, ক্ষোভ ও উদ্বেগ প্রকাশ করছে। এই দুঃসহ ও বেদনাদায়ক মুহূর্তে আমরা শিশুটির শোকসন্তপ্ত পরিবারের প্রতি জানাচ্ছি গভীর সমবেদনা।

এই নৃশংস ঘটনা কেবল একটি বিচ্ছিন্ন অপরাধ নয়; এটি শিশুদের প্রতি ক্রমবর্ধমান সহিংসতা, নিরাপত্তাহীনতা এবং শিশু সুরক্ষা ব্যবস্থার দুর্বলতার একটি নির্মম প্রতিফলন। প্রতিটি শিশুর বেঁচে থাকা, নিরাপত্তা, সুরক্ষা ও মর্যাদার অধিকার রাষ্ট্র, সমাজ এবং আমাদের সকলের কাছে সমানভাবে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ।

এসওএস চিলড্রেন’স ভিলেজেস বাংলাদেশ এই ঘটনার দ্রুত, স্বচ্ছ, নিরপেক্ষ ও দৃষ্টান্তমূলক বিচার নিশ্চিত করার জোর দাবি জানাচ্ছে। একইসাথে, শিশুদের বিরুদ্ধে সকল ধরনের সহিংসতা প্রতিরোধে কার্যকর ও দীর্ঘমেয়াদি পদক্ষেপ গ্রহণ, শক্তিশালী শিশু সুরক্ষা ব্যবস্থা গড়ে তোলা এবং বিদ্যমান আইন যথাযথভাবে বাস্তবায়নের জন্য আমরা বাংলাদেশ সরকার ও সংশ্লিষ্ট কর্তৃপক্ষের প্রতি আহ্বান জানাচ্ছি।

আমরা বিশ্বাস করি, শিশুদের বিরুদ্ধে সহিংসতার প্রতিটি ঘটনা মানবাধিকারের লঙ্ঘন এবং এটি কোনোভাবেই স্বাভাবিক বা গ্রহণযোগ্য হতে পারে না। দায়মুক্তির সংস্কৃতি বন্ধ করে অপরাধের জবাবদিহিতা নিশ্চিত করতে হবে। একইসাথে পরিবার, শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠান, কমিউনিটি এবং রাষ্ট্রীয় কাঠামোকে শিশু সুরক্ষায় আরও দায়িত্বশীল ও কার্যকর ভূমিকা পালন করতে হবে।

কোনো শিশুই যেন ভয়, নির্যাতন ও সহিংসতার আশঙ্কা নিয়ে বেড়ে উঠতে বাধ্য না হয়। প্রতিটি শিশুর একটি নিরাপদ, সুরক্ষিত ও মর্যাদাপূর্ণ শৈশব পাওয়ার অধিকার রয়েছে এবং সেই অধিকার নিশ্চিত করা আমাদের সবার সম্মিলিত দায়িত্ব।

আসুন, আমরা এমন একটি বাংলাদেশ গড়ে তুলি, যেখানে প্রতিটি শিশু নিরাপত্তা, সুরক্ষা, ভালোবাসা ও মর্যাদার পরিবেশে বেড়ে উঠতে পারে।

We are pleased to announce a new partnership between the Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation - PKSF and SOS Children’s Villages Bangladesh under the Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Program (SICIP).

This collaboration will support skills development initiatives aimed at creating greater learning and employment opportunities for young people from ethnic minority communities. Through this initiative, participants will gain access to industry-relevant training that promotes inclusion, empowerment, and sustainable growth.

Together, we are working towards building brighter futures through quality vocational education and skills development.

With immense pride and joy, we are pleased to announce that today SOS Children’s Villages International in Bangladesh has been awarded the Swadhinata Padak 2026, the highest civilian honor of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, in recognition of its outstanding contributions to social service.
At a grand ceremony held this afternoon at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital, the Honorable Prime Minister Mr. Tarique Rahman formally presented us with this prestigious award.
This achievement is not ours alone. At every step of this journey have been the children and youth, devoted mothers, former participants, dedicated colleagues, past coworkers, and compassionate donors and partners who have stood beside us unwaveringly. We extend our deepest respect and heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of them.
