Immortality: is ageing disease?
In the term of immortality, we have a lifelong beef with end. We dont want to end and miss something, but to have it for eternity. However, living infinity days does have a lot of merits and demerits.
In the term of merits, we speak that having life for infinity years, makes us infinity, which you can either be child for 40/50 years or be old for 90/100 years. Immortality makes us to escape death which you can see you grandchildren and next generations. We could finally stop rushing and just be. It sounds like the ultimate cure for the anxiety of running out of time.
But here’s the catch: things are usually special because they don't last. A diamond is precious because it's rare, and a sunset hits different because it’s over in minutes. If you had a trillion Tuesday afternoons, would any single one of them actually matter? Without a finish line, "someday" becomes a dangerous trap. We might actually lose our spark if we knew we had forever to get things done.
At the end, immortality stands as a faith of choosing to live forever, even you know every day is nothing more valuable than yesterday or choosing death to see resurrection or enjoy afterlife. Does it actually matter?
