২৮ শে জানুয়ারি , ২০২৬ খ্রি. বুধবার সকাল ১১.০০ টায়, "ইউনিভার্সিটি অব ইনফরমেশন টেকনোলজি এন্ড সায়েন্সেস (ইউআইটিএস)"-এর আইটি বিভাগের উদ্যোগে ওরিয়েন্টেশন আয়োজন করা হয়, যা ৫৭তম ব্যাচের নবীন শিক্ষার্থীদের স্বাগত জানানোর জন্য এক আনন্দঘন ও রঙিন অনুষ্ঠানে রূপ নেয়।

অনুষ্ঠান শুরু হয় পবিত্র কোরআন তেলাওয়াতের মাধ্যমে।এরপর অনুষ্ঠানের শুভ সূচনা হয় প্রাণবন্ত সঞ্চালনার মধ্য দিয়ে, যার দায়িত্বে ছিলেন মিস এনি চৌধুরী, প্রভাষক, আইটি বিভাগ। তার উপস্থাপনার মাঝে ছিল আনন্দ, উচ্ছ্বাস এবং নবীনদের জন্য আন্তরিক শুভকামনার ছোঁয়া।অনুষ্ঠানে শুভেচ্ছা বক্তব্য প্রদান করেন আব্দুল্লাহ আল মামুন শামীম, প্রভাষক ও কোর্স কো-অর্ডিনেটর, আইটি বিভাগ। তার প্রেরণাদায়ক কথাগুলো নবীনদের মনে অনুপ্রেরণার সঞ্চার করে এবং চার বছরের বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় জীবনের সম্ভাবনা সম্পর্কে দিকনির্দেশনা দেয়।
আমাদের অনুষ্ঠানের প্রধান অতিথি ও বিশেষ অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন ছিলেন মাননীয় উপাচার্য প্রফেসর ড.মো. আবু হাসান ভুইয়া, ট্রেজারার প্রফেসর ড.সিরাজ উদ্দিন আহমেদ, ডিন প্রফেসর ইঞ্জিনিয়ার ড. মো.রাশিদুল হাসান।
বিশেষ অতিথি হিসেবে
অনুষ্ঠানে বক্তব্য রাখেন প্রফেসর ইঞ্জিনিয়ার ড. মো.রাশিদুল হাসান, ডিন, বিজ্ঞান ও প্রকৌশল অনুষদ, যিনি শিক্ষার্থীদের দক্ষতা এবং প্রযুক্তিগত উৎকর্ষ অর্জনের ওপর গুরুত্বারোপ করেন।

অনুষ্ঠানের বিশেষ অতিথি, প্রফেসর ড.সিরাজ উদ্দিন আহমেদ,ট্রেজারার নবীন শিক্ষার্থীদের স্বাগত জানিয়ে তাদেরকে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের নিয়ম শৃঙ্খলা এবং বিভিন্ন স্কলারশিপ সম্পর্কে অবগত করেন। এছাড়াও আরো বক্তব্য রাখেন প্রধান অতিথি ড.মো. আবু হাসান ভুইয়া,উপাচার্য। তিনি "ইউনিভার্সিটি অব ইনফরমেশন টেকনোলজি এন্ড সায়েন্সেস"-এর সুনাম বজায় রেখে প্রযুক্তি, শিক্ষা ও গবেষণায় সাফল্যের নতুন অধ্যায় রচনার প্রত্যাশা ব্যক্ত করেন।তিনি নতুন শিক্ষার্থীদের স্বাগত জানিয়ে তাদের আগাম শিক্ষা জীবনে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় কর্তৃক সকল সুযোগ সুবিধা সম্পর্কে তাদের অবগত করেন।

অনুষ্ঠানের শেষ পর্যায়ে ধন্যবাদ জ্ঞাপন করেন সাদিয়া জাহান,সহকারী অধ্যাপক ও বিভাগীয় প্রধান(ভারপ্রাপ্ত ), আইটি বিভাগ। তার বক্তব্য এর মাধ্যমে আমাদের নবীনরা আইটি ডিপার্টমেন্ট এর কারিকুলাম ও সকল সুযোগ সুবিধা সম্পর্কে সুস্পষ্ট ধারনা পেয়ে থাকেন।

অনুষ্ঠানের সবচেয়ে আনন্দঘন মুহূর্ত ছিল কেক কাটার আয়োজন, যা নবীন ও সিনিয়র শিক্ষার্থীদের মিলনমেলায় প্রাণের সঞ্চার করে। অনুষ্ঠানের প্রতিটি অংশজুড়ে ছিল আনন্দ, উচ্ছ্বাস এবং নবীনদের জীবনের নতুন অধ্যায় শুরু করার উদ্দীপনা।এছাড়াও ব্যাচ ৫৬ এর পক্ষ থেকে নতুন দের জন্য আয়োজন করা হয়েছিল সাংস্কৃতিক অনুষ্ঠান পর্ব এবং কিছু উপহার সামগ্রী।

এই দিনটি স্মরণীয় হয়ে থাকবে নবীনদের স্বপ্নের দিগন্ত উন্মোচন এবং তাদের চার বছরের বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় জীবনে সফলতা অর্জনের প্রতিশ্রুতির এক উজ্জ্বল সূচনা হিসেবে।

We are delighted to introduce Ratul Mandal who is newly joined as a Lecturer in Department of Information Technology (IT) at the University of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS).

Ratul is currently pursuing an M.Sc. in Information and Communication Technology at Jahangirnagar University, maintaining an excellent academic record. He completed his B.Sc. in ICT from Jahangirnagar University with strong academic standing and received university scholarships consecutively for four years in recognition of his academic excellence.

His research interests include Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Federated Learning and Artificial Intelligence.

In addition to research, Ratul has hands-on teaching and academic experience. He served as a Teaching Assistant at the Institute of Information Technology (IIT), Jahangirnagar University, where he was responsible for instructing and managing the Operating Systems Lab and the Structured Programming Language Lab.

Ratul is highly skilled in programming, software development, machine learning projects and problem solving, with an impressive record in competitive programming, having solved over 1395+ problems across multiple online judges.

We are confident that his academic achievements, research mindset, and enthusiasm for learning and teaching will be a valuable addition to the Department of Information Technology, UITS, and will positively contribute to our academic and research environment.

We are delighted to introduce Zannat Hossain Tamim, who is newly joined as a Lecturer in Department of Information Technology (IT) at the University of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS).

Tamim is currently pursuing an M.Sc. in Information and Communication Technology at Jahangirnagar University, maintaining an excellent academic record. She completed her B.Sc. in ICT from Jahangirnagar University with strong academic standing and received Government Scholarships consecutively for four years in recognition of her academic excellence.

Her research interests include Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Reality, Cyber Security, Federated Learning, and Cloud-related technologies. Tamim has already made significant research contributions, with multiple publications in international peer-reviewed journals and conferences, including IEEE Access, Expert Systems with Applications (Elsevier), and Sustainable Cities and Society. She is also actively involved in several ongoing research projects focusing on emerging and impactful technologies.

In addition to research, Tamim has hands-on teaching and academic experience. She has served as an Adjunct Lecturer at BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology (BUFT) and as a Teaching Assistant at the Institute of Information Technology (IIT), Jahangirnagar University. Her professional journey also includes research assistantships under nationally and internationally funded projects, including an EU-supported ERASMUS project.

Tamim is highly skilled in programming, software development, machine learning, cybersecurity, and problem solving, with an impressive record in competitive programming, having solved over 700+ problems across multiple online judges.

We believe her academic achievements, research mindset, and enthusiasm for learning and teaching will be a valuable addition to the Department of Information Technology, UITS, and will positively contribute to our academic and research environment.

The Department of "Information Technology",University of Information Technology & Sciences (UITS), extends its warmest congratulations to Prof. Dr. Engr. Md. Rashidul Hasan on his appointment as the Dean, Faculty of Science and Engineering, UITS

On January 21, 2026, the Head of the Department of IT, Sadia Jahan , along with esteemed faculty members, formally welcomed Prof. Dr. Hasan for his new joining.

Prof. Dr. M. R. Hasan, born in the Rajshahi District, earned his B.Sc. Engg. (Civil) and M.Sc. Engg. (Civil)degrees from RUET, and later completed his PhD in Water and Environment. With over 15 years of professional engineering experience and more than 15 years of teaching and research involvement, he is a distinguished academic and researcher.

He is a Panel Program Evaluator (Civil Engineering) of BAETE, IEB, Dhaka, a Life Fellow of IEB, and has served in multiple leadership roles within the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh. Prof. Dr. Hasan has participated in 25+ national and international conferences and authored numerous peer-reviewed research publications.

The Department of IT looks forward to continued academic growth and excellence under his visionary leadership and guidance.
