Today the Government announced updates to the Australian citizenship test, putting Australian values at the heart of the test.

To slow the spread of and to save lives, the following facilities must close from midday local time 23 March 2020:
- Pubs, registered and licenced clubs (excluding bottle shops attached to these venues), hotels (excluding accommodation)
- Gyms and indoor sporting venues
- Cinemas, entertainment venues, casinos, and night clubs
- Restaurants and cafes will be restricted to takeaway and/or home delivery
- Religious gatherings, places of worship or funerals (in enclosed spaces and other than very small groups and where the 1 person per 4 square metre rule applies).

These measures will be reviewed, but we should expect restrictions on our daily lives for at least 6 months.

Today is International Day for the Abolition of Slavery. The Australian Institute of Criminology estimates that there are between 1,300 and 1,900 victims of human trafficking and slavery in Australia.

After completing her high school in Vietnam, Chau came to for a programme. She will join next year as a second year Bachelor of Commerce student. In her words, “I think that you should go to UCIC before entering UC because at UCIC, international students are taken care of very well by the passionate teachers, as well as the students who have been here for a while. I am very impressed by the study programmes which are practical and relevant to real life. In the classrooms, I don’t just read and recite. I have to use my logical thinking and apply the knowledge to life.”
