The Department of Pharmacy, Southeast University organized Degree Completion Ceremony of the Batch 39 on 22 April 2026 at the Multipurpose Hall, hosted by Batch 39, Department of Pharmacy, SEU.
The program was conducted in three distinguished segments: a Formal Session, a Graduation Lunch, and a Cultural Program. The formal session commenced with a welcome address delivered by Dr. Israt Jahan Bulbul, Chairperson, Department of Pharmacy, SEU.
The session was further honored by the presence and insightful speeches of Prof. Yusuf Mahbubul Islam, PhD (Vice Chancellor), Prof. M. Mofazzal Hossain, PhD (Pro Vice-Chancellor), Major General Md. Anwarul Islam (Registrar), and Prof. Dr. Md. Selim Reza (Adviser, Department of Pharmacy, SEU), along with other respected faculty members.
The Graduation Lunch provided an opportunity for meaningful interaction and celebration, while the Cultural Program showcased the creativity and talents of the students, adding vibrancy to the occasion.
This memorable event marked a significant milestone in the academic journey of Batch 39, celebrating their dedication, perseverance, and achievements.

SEU Hosts Seminar on Clinical Pharmacy Practices in Canada
The Department of Pharmacy and Southeast Pharmacy Club organized a seminar titled โClinical Pharmacy Practices in Canada: Opportunities and Challenges for Bangladeshโ on Thursday, 23 April 2026, at Southeast University (SEU), Dhaka, Bangladesh.
The seminar was graced by the presence of Prof. Dr. Yusuf Mahbubul Islam, Vice Chancellor of Southeast University. The keynote speech was delivered by Faisol Ferdous, Pharmacy Licensee at Millet Pharmacy, Alberta, Canada. He shared his professional insights on clinical pharmacy practice in the Canadian healthcare system, drawing from his extensive experience in community and clinical pharmacy as well as his engagement in academic instruction and pharmaceutical industry practice across Bangladesh and Canada.
The program was also attended by Prof. Dr. Abul Hasanat Alamgir, Director, IRT; Dr. Israt Jahan Bulbul, Chairperson, Department of Pharmacy, along with other respected faculty members, and students of the Department of Pharmacy.
The session highlighted important academic and professional perspectives on international opportunities in clinical pharmacy.

The Institute of Research and Training (IRT) of Southeast University (SEU) organized โFaculty Research Day 2026โ on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at the universityโs Multipurpose Hall. The event recognized research contributions of the faculty in 2025, highlighting high-quality publications to foster a strong and sustainable research culture.
The chief guest at the event was Dr. Wahiduddin Mahmud, former Advisor to the Ministry of Planning and Education of the Interim Government. Dr. Tahmeed Ahmed, Executive Director of the International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease (icddr,b) and Dr. A.K. Enamul Haque, Director General of the Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (BIDS) were distinguished speakers. They applauded SEU faculty members for their research productivity and appreciated SEUโs commitment and support to scholarly activities.
The session was chaired by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Yusuf Mahbubul Islam and opening remarks were delivered by the Pro-Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Md. Mofazzal Hossain. The concluding remarks were given by the Director of the Institute, Professor Dr. Hasnat M. Alamgir.
This event reflects SEUโs pledge to institutional quality improvement, student research mentoring, and ongoing support for it's faculty to achieve international standards.

The Department of Pharmacy at Southeast University has been awarded a prestigious two-year research grant under the World Bank-funded Higher Education Acceleration and Transformation (HEAT) project, which will be implemented by the UGC of Bangladesh.
Led by Principal Investigator Dr. Nusratun Nahar, alongside team members Dr. Israt Jahan Bulbul and Ms. Yesmin Begum, the project is titled, "Identification of Host Genetic Markers Associated with Susceptibility, Severity and Outcomes of Coronavirus Induced Disorders: Implications for Managing Future Pandemics."
By investigating genetic factors related to the coronavirus, this study aims to provide critical insights for managing future global health crises. This project marks a significant milestone in the universityโs commitment to impactful research and academic excellence. Southeast University warmly congratulates the department on this outstanding accomplishment.
