We have partnered with Texas Dragon/Lion Dance Team to host the Fut San Lion Dance and Its Martial Roots Seminar taught by Grandmaster Lee Kam Wing of the Seven Star Praying Mantis style. It will be from September 17 - 18, 2022 in Austin, Texas.
This course is designed for practitioners of all skill levels to come together and learn more about the beautiful and robust style of Fut San lion dance. The course will cover the following topics:
- Lion handling
- Stepping
- Head movements
- Tail coordination
- Drumming, including Seven Star Beat and Drum Flowering techniques
- Coordination of drum, gong, and cymbals
- Traditional Chengs used for businesses
This seminar will be hands on, and participants should expect to be active most of the time instead of sitting through lectures.
