The government will bring the savings Certificate/ Shanchaypatra under the automation system in the savings bank account from next fiscal year. From July 1, the original and interest of the savings certificate will be withdrawn as the bank of the customer. Finance Ministry's finance division informed the companies that they sold their savings certificates on Monday. The organizations are Bangladesh Bank, National Savings Directorate, Bangladesh Postal Department and Sonali Bank.

Another program called 'National Savings Scheme Online Management System' is being implemented by the Department of Finance, 'Strengthening the Government Expenditure Management: Maintaining Continuity of Priority Programs'. This program is working to get the interest and realization of the savings project through the Bangladesh Electronic Fund Transfer Network (BEFTN) as a customer's bank.

আয়কর রিটার্ন

নভেম্বরের শেষ দিন সরকারি ছুটির কারণে আগামী ২ ডিসেম্বর পর্যন্ত আয়কর রিটার্ন দাখিল করা যাবে। করদাতাদের সুবিধার্থেই রিটার্ন জমার সময় দুদিন বাড়িয়েছে জাতীয় রাজস্ব বোর্ড (এনবিআর)।

তবে এ বছর আয়কর সপ্তাহ পালন করছে না এনবিআর। এ মাসের শেষ দিন পর্যন্ত কর অঞ্চল ও সার্কেল অফিসগুলোতে আয়কর মেলার সব সুবিধা পাওয়া যাবে বলে জানিয়েছেন এনবিআর কর্মকর্তারা।

দেশে প্রথমবারের মতো ২০১৬ সালে আয়কর সপ্তাহ পালন করে এনবিআর। করদাতাদের বাড়তি সুবিধা দিতেই উৎসাহ উদ্দীপনার সঙ্গে নভেম্বরের শেষ সপ্তাহে সেজে উঠতো কর অঞ্চলগুলো।

বিভিন্ন সচেতনতামূলক প্রচারণা বাড়ায় নভেম্বরের শেষ সপ্তাহে রিটার্ন দাখিলের সংখ্যাও বেড়েছিল বলে তৎকালীন কর্মকর্তাদের ভাষ্য।

তবে, বর্তমানের কর্মকর্তারা বলছেন সপ্তাহের প্রয়োজন নেই। নভেম্বরের শেষ সপ্তাহে রিটার্ন দাখিলের সময় কর অঞ্চলগুলোতে এখনও একই সুবিধা পাওয়া যাবে।

জাতীয় রাজস্ব বোর্ড সূত্র জানায়, এবার আয়কর সপ্তাহ পালন না হলেও কর অফিসগুলোতে মেলার সব সুবিধা পাওয়া যাবে।

আয়কর মেলায় যে পরিবেশে রিটার্ন দেয়া হয়েছে একই রকমের সুবিধা কর অঞ্চলগুলোতেও পাওয়া যাবে। কর অঞ্চল ও সার্কেল অফিসে সারাবছর একই ধরণের সেবা নিশ্চিত করতেই এবার আয়কর সপ্তাহ পালন করা হচ্ছে না।
