Sufi teaching proceeds by means of a teacher-student relationship. Each teacher-student relationship forms a link in a chain which connects any authentic Sufi Order back to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon Him). This “chain of initiation” is called a “Silsila“ (order).The Silsila of the Kutubbagh Darbar Sharif connects the current Shaykh of the "Naqshbandi Mujaddidia" Order, Shah Sufi Mawlana Hazrat Syed Zakir Shah Kutubbaghi Naqshabandi, Mujaddidi, Quadri, Chisty (Madda Jillahul Ali), to the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) (peace be upon him) through the four main Sufi Orders, the Naqshbandi, Mujaddidi, Chishti and Qadiri. Each of these are named after of a prominent Shaykh of the order. The Naqsbandi Mujaddidi sillsila is a special branch of the Naqshbandi silsila, which gets its name from Hazrat Shaykh Ahammad Sherhindi Mujaddid Al fesani Al faruqi (R.A) (1564-1624). He was known as The Reviver (Mujaddid) of the Millenium – because he was said to have revived Islam and Sufism for the next thousand of years. This is a Sufi Darbar Sharif named after the Pir O Murshid Hazrat Kutub-Uddin Ahammad Khan Matuaili (Ku. A:), spiritual teacher of Mujaddid-e-Zaman Hazrat Khwaja Baba Zakir Shah Kutubbaghi Naqshabandi, Mujaddidi, Quadri. His holyness khwaja Baba Zakir Shah (Ma Ji A:) is the spiritual Master, Mystic and Sufi in the Naqshabandi and Mujaddedia Sufi order. Also, His majesty, Hazrat Zakir Shah is one of the world's most renowned scholars of Islamic Doctrine and the spiritual science of Sufism of twenty first century.
