বাংলাদেশের বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় শিক্ষার্থীদের বৃহৎ রিসার্চ নেটওয়ার্কের অন্যতম সদস্য জাহাঙ্গীরনগর ইউনিভার্সিটি রিসার্চ সোসাইটি (JURS)-এর সহকারী কোষাধ্যক্ষ এবং জাহাঙ্গীরনগর বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের লোক প্রশাসন বিভাগের মেধাবী শিক্ষার্থী শারমিন জাহানের রহস্যজনক, মর্মান্তিক ও অকাল মৃত্যুর ঘটনায় গভীর শোক ও উদ্বেগ প্রকাশ করেছে বাংলাদেশ গবেষণা সংসদ (BDRS)।

চাঁদপুর জেলার কচুয়া উপজেলার বাসিন্দা শারমিন জাহান জাহাঙ্গীরনগর বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের লোক প্রশাসন বিভাগের ৫১তম ব্যাচের (২০২১–২২ শিক্ষাবর্ষ) একজন প্রতিশ্রুতিশীল শিক্ষার্থী ছিলেন। তার এই অকাল ও নির্মম মৃত্যু শুধু তার পরিবার ও স্বজনদের জন্যই নয়, বরং দেশের সমগ্র বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় অঙ্গন, তরুণ গবেষক সমাজ এবং জ্ঞানচর্চার পরিমণ্ডলের জন্য এক গভীর বেদনাদায়ক ঘটনা।

বাংলাদেশ গবেষণা সংসদ (BDRS) এই ঘটনাকে অত্যন্ত মর্মান্তিক ও অস্বাভাবিক হিসেবে বিবেচনা করছে এবং ঘটনার প্রকৃত সত্য উদঘাটনের জন্য সংশ্লিষ্ট আইনশৃঙ্খলা রক্ষাকারী বাহিনীর প্রতি দ্রুত, সুষ্ঠু ও নিরপেক্ষ তদন্ত পরিচালনার জোর দাবি জানাচ্ছে। একই সঙ্গে এই ঘটনার পেছনে যদি কোনো ষড়যন্ত্র, অবহেলা বা অপরাধমূলক কর্মকাণ্ড জড়িত থাকে, তবে তা নিরপেক্ষভাবে উদঘাটন করে সংশ্লিষ্টদের দ্রুত শনাক্ত করে আইনের আওতায় এনে দৃষ্টান্তমূলক শাস্তি নিশ্চিত করার আহ্বান জানানো হচ্ছে।

বাংলাদেশ গবেষণা সংসদ মনে করে, বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় শিক্ষার্থীদের নিরাপত্তা, মর্যাদা ও সুস্থ একাডেমিক পরিবেশ নিশ্চিত করা রাষ্ট্র ও সংশ্লিষ্ট কর্তৃপক্ষের অন্যতম গুরুত্বপূর্ণ দায়িত্ব। এই ধরনের মর্মান্তিক ঘটনার পুনরাবৃত্তি রোধে প্রয়োজন কার্যকর তদন্ত, জবাবদিহিতা এবং দৃশ্যমান বিচার নিশ্চিত করা।

এই গভীর শোকের মুহূর্তে বাংলাদেশ গবেষণা সংসদ (BDRS) পরিবারের পক্ষ থেকে শারমিন জাহানের শোকসন্তপ্ত পরিবার, বন্ধু, সহপাঠী এবং সহকর্মীদের প্রতি গভীর সমবেদনা জানানো হচ্ছে। একই সঙ্গে মহান আল্লাহর কাছে প্রার্থনা করা হচ্ছে, যেন তিনি মরহুমার আত্মাকে চিরশান্তি দান করেন এবং তার পরিবারকে এই অপূরণীয় ক্ষতি সহ্য করার শক্তি দান করেন।
