๐๐๐๐๐ข๐๐ง ๐๐ซ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ญ๐๐ซ ๐๐๐ก๐๐ข๐ฅ & ๐๐ญ๐ฎ๐๐๐ง๐ญโ๐๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ง๐ข ๐๐๐๐ญ๐ฎ๐ฉ ๐๐๐๐ brought together nearly 800 participants in one of the largest gatherings in the history of the Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST).
Organized by the Islamic Chapter of MIST 2.0 at the Rangdhanu Convention Center, the event created a meaningful platform for students and alumni to reconnect, strengthen their bonds, and share a spiritually enriching Ramadan evening. More than 160 alumni joined the program, making it a memorable reunion of the MISTian family.
The Mahfil was honored by the presence of Shayekh Hafiz Muniruddin as the special guest, who delivered an inspiring message highlighting the importance of following Quranic guidance and strengthening unity among Muslims. Distinguished speakers Shayekh Abdullah bin Abdur Razjak and Shayekh Abdul Hi Mohammad Saifullah also shared valuable insights on faith, character building, and the responsibilities of the younger generation.
Adding a beautiful touch to the evening, Al Quran Academy London distributed more than 800+ copies of the Holy Quran free of cost, encouraging participants to strengthen their connection with the words of Allah.
The event concluded with a collective Iftar and heartfelt interactions among students and alumni, marking a historic and spiritually uplifting milestone for the MIST community.

Janaza of Late J.F. Abu Naim Held at MIST
The Janaza of the late J.F. Abu Naim was held today, Monday after Isha, at the MIST Mosque. The prayer was attended by his family members, the Honorable Chief of Army Staff, senior Army officials, the Commandant of MIST, officers, faculty, staff, and fellow students.
A large number of attendees offered prayers, seeking eternal peace and forgiveness for the departed soul. The family of the deceased, along with representatives from MIST, have departed for his village home in Lalpur, Natore.

J.F. Md. Abu Nayeem, a Level-2 student of NAME at MIST, tragically passed away on 31 January 2026 after drowning in the Padma River near Mawa Ghat. Despite joint rescue efforts by the Bangladesh Navy, Coast Guard, Fire Service and Civil Defence, and local divers, his body was recovered today, 2 February 2026, at approximately 12:30 PM.
His Janaza will be held today, 2 February 2026, at 5:00 PM at the MIST ground.
May Allah grant him Jannatul Ferdous and give strength and patience to his grieving family. Ameen.

A total of 18 Level 2 students from the NAME Department went on a day tour to Mawa. During the visit, they hired a boat to travel around the Padma Bridge area.
At approximately 3:20 PM, three students jumped into the river from the boat to bathe and swim, while the remaining students stayed on board. Shortly after entering the water, the three students began shouting for help, indicating that they were drowning.
The students on the boat immediately attempted to rescue them. Mursalin, the only Level 2 student on the boat who was able to swim, successfully rescued two of the students. Unfortunately, one student could not be saved and is currently missing.

The Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) has earned global recognition by being ranked among the top 1501+ universities worldwide in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2026. In the field of Engineering, MIST is also placed within the 1001+ category globally, reflecting its growing academic and research strength.
While students take pride in these achievements, many have expressed concerns regarding the relatively high tuition fees and are seeking a reduction to make education more accessible and affordable, in line with the instituteโs public-service values and student welfare.

The funeral prayer (namaz-e-janaza) for former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia was held at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad in Dhaka on 31 December 2025, after her death at the age of 80.
Mourners from across the country gathered to pay their respects, with many attending the prayer and related ceremonies in the capital. Members of the interim government, political leaders, foreign dignitaries and people from various walks of life were present as her body was laid to rest beside her late husband.

Bangladeshโs former Prime Minister and BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia passed away at the age of 80 on Tuesday morning after a prolonged illness. She died at 6:00am while undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka, the party said in a statement.
Khaleda Zia had been hospitalised for the past 36 days after being admitted on November 23 with heart and lung infections. She was also suffering from pneumonia.
