Attended a GMAC webinar a couple of days ago and here are the latest updates on the focus edition of GMAT.
- no Sentence Correction questions, and
- no Geometry based math questions (except for some occasional coordinate geometry problems)

Classic Old GMAT is no longer available after January 31, 2024. Starting from February 1, 2024, the only version of GMAT available is GMAT Focus Edition.

What's Changing in the GMAT Focus Edition?
The GMAT Focus Edition is a computer-adaptive test, similar to the current GMAT, designed to evaluate applicants' skills for MBA and other business school programs. However, there are significant changes in the new edition: The Focus Edition emphasizes critical thinking, analytical, and data literacy skills required for success in today's business world. Consequently, the new GMAT syllabus excludes the Sentence Correction questions from the Verbal segment and removes the Analytical Writing Assessment entirely.

Additionally, the Integrated Reasoning section transforms into the Data Insights section, introducing Data Sufficiency questions from the Quantitative segment. The Focus Edition now consists of only three sections, each lasting 45 minutes, making it an hour shorter than the old GMAT. Each section contributes equally to the GMAT Focus Total Score.

Despite these changes, several aspects remain unchanged. The GMAT score validity period is still five years, and the retake policy and exam fees persist.

The GMAT Focus Edition is 2 hours and 15 minutes long (with one optional 10-minute break) and consists of a total of 64 questions:
- Quantitative Reasoning: 21 questions, 45 minutes.
- Verbal Reasoning: 23 questions, 45 minutes.
- Data Insights: 20 questions, 45 minutes.
