FILM ANNOUNCEMENT: The Hour of Liberation Has Arrived, directed by Heiny Srour

SYNOPSIS: This film is the only record on a world level of the most luminous page in the history of the Arab-Islamic World: a secular, democratic, feminist and equalitarian experience filmed in the ex-Liberated Zone of Dhofar/Oman. It’s the only time where we saw positive discrimination in favor of women, here and now, without waiting for the liberation. The People’s Army barefooted, without grades nor salaries liberated one-third of the homeland whilst at the same time building the first road, hospital, waterhole, pilot farm and school of the country. A school where 8 years old were taught democracy and self-management whilst achieving stunning academic results.

The screening will be at Mukta Mancha at Suhrawardy Uddyan. Like last year these screenings are free and open to the public. Free Palestine!
