Dr. Mohammad Mainul Islam's "Population and Development Talks" is a series of conversations with academicians, students, researchers, policymakers, and practitioners working in population and development. Dr. Mohammad Mainul Islam is a professor and former Chairman of Population Sciences at the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, with over 22 years of experience in population and development. He received his PhD in Demography from the Institute of Population Research at Peking University, China, in 2009. Dr. Islam completed a Global Health Research Capacity Strengthening Program (GHR-CAPS) Postdoctoral Fellowship at McGill University, Canada, between 2013 and 2014. In recognition of his academic achievements, he received the 'First Prize of Academic Excellence Award in 2008 from Peking University. Later, he was named the Nick Simons Scholar of the New Investigator in Global Health program of the Global Health Council, USA. His work broadly focuses on population and development, population and health policies and programs, family planning, reproductive health, population aging, climate change, displaced populations, and Sinology.
