The highly acclaimed North South University School of Business and Economics comprises of four departments – Accounting and Finance; Economics; Management; and Marketing and International Business. In the graduate level, North South University offers MBA, EMBA, MS in Economics and Masters in Development Studies programs. The school gives rise to future professionals rather than mere “degree holders”. North South University provides the best facilities and equipment in order to ensure an unparalleled learning experience for the students. Founded on 5.5 acres of beautifully landscaped area, this impressive state-of-the art campus with modern academic amenities and facilities stand out as an extraordinary architectural landmark of Dhaka. NSU SBE organized the Student Volunteer Appreciation event today February 12, 2017 at the faculty lounge to acknowledge the brilliant effort by student volunteers at the advising session. The advising wouldn't have been operated smoothly without the assistance of the students, from different clubs namely Young Economists' Forum (YEF), NSU YES!, NSU HR CLUB, NSU International Business Club.

They were handed certificates by the Dean, Dr. M. Mahboob Rahman, of NSU SBE at the event. The chairmen of the respective departments were also present to encourage the students.

The MBA Orientation for the class of 2019 was held on the evening of the 16th of January, 2017. Organized by the Office of the Outreach with help from volunteers of NSU YES!, it was a fun filled affair with games, food, music and laughter.

Our alumni guest speakers, Irfat Ahmed (Shilpi) and Shams Zaman graced us with their presence and motivational words, while our Dean M. Mahboob Rahman briefed the audience about the importance of an MBA from the country’s only accredited Business School.

Designed around the theme “Think Big” a game of building the tallest tower with newspaper and bare hands and another game of having a conversation for two minutes without using the word ‘I” were played with the new students with an intention of engaging them.

On the eve of the 4th of September, The Office of the Outreach arranged the MBA/EMBA Orientation for Fall 2016 students

Using the theme CONNECT & LEAD, the event comprised of two fantastic alumni guest speakers, two fun games with prizes and scintillating hip-hop performance by the Anonymous. the event started with welcome address by the dean and ended with the MBA Director offering help and guidance.

Post Orientation, the students were guided to do their advising in a fun environment with food and music.

The Youth Fest, in partnership with UGC, a2i, Bangladesh Bank and BCCI, was a nationwide event to inspire youth to enhance their skills and knowledge. It included competitions, training sessions, lecture series and showcasing of successful local and global startups.

NSU hosted its Grand Finale on the 13th and 14th of May 2016. Speakers ranging from Mayor of Dhaka North, CEO of Standard Chartered bank, Coca-Cola to heads of Adcomm, Grey Bangladesh etc came to our campus. At The closing Minister of Power, Mr. Nasrul Hamid, MP was present along with Dean, School of Business, Vice Chancellor in-charge and many other NSU faculty, officers and staff.

The event shall was a fun-filled, useful and enjoyable one for students to say the least. The Office of the Outreach had a great time organizing the event along with Bangladesh Brand Forum. Check it out for yourself!
