Fluid Mechanics Is One Of The Most Important Branch Of Applied Mathematics. In This Branch A Number Of Articles Have Been Published Each Ear In The National And International Journals. This Year (2010-2011) And In The Previous Year (2009-2010) Two Faculties From This Department Have Been Awarded The Prestigious Dean’s Award From The Faculty Of Science. The Area Including Newtonian And Non-Newtonian Fluids For Industrial Applications, Magnetohydrodynamics, Aerodynamics, Mathematical Hydrology, Bio-Fluid Mechanics, Nano-Fluids, Computational Fluid Mechanics And More. The Department Of Applied Mathematics Of The University Of Dhaka Is Going To Initiate Class Room Teaching As Well As Research Is This Field. The Department Of Applied Mathematics Will Also Open Actuarial Science And Meteorology Very Soon Which Are Important Areas Of Research Due To Their Applications In National And Multinational Financial Institutions And Weather Forecast Respectively.
