For students who have been interviewed and were asked to provide additional information, please know processing times will vary. You will be notified once processing is complete. Afterwards, make sure to contact your Designated School Official (DSO) to ensure both your SEVIS electronic record and I-20 are updated with accurate start dates.

Students cannot be issued an F-1 visa if their class start date has already passed. If you have missed your program start date, you must work with your DSO to postpone your matriculation to a realistic date. A late arrival approval letter from your college/university and/or a new I-20 is not sufficient unless the SEVIS database is updated.

If you have already applied and been granted an expedited interview, and your new appointment date still falls after your start date, please DO NOT apply for another expedited appointment. Your appointment date is the earliest we can accommodate while accounting for COVID-19 mitigation measures. Requesting another expedited appointment will delay the process, and your new date will fall even later. Instead, please contact your designated school official (DSO) to update your I-20 and postpone your in-person start date before your interview.
