Md. Abdur Rahim, an MA student of IML presented a research paper titled "Impact of ChatGPT on Tertiary-Level EFL Learners' Autonomy at the Public Universities in Dhaka City" at a day long National Postgraduate Student Research Seminar 2026 on "English Literature and Language Education in a Changing World", jointly organized by Centre for English Teaching and Research (CETR) and the Department of English, University of Dhaka, where English background postgraduate researchers from different public and private universities across the country got the chance to present their research work, exchange ideas, and receive valuable scholarly feedback. The presenters has also been provided certificates in recognition of their successful presentations. As an English background postgraduate student, his academic interests include English Language Teaching, second language acquisition, innovative pedagogical approaches, and technology-enhanced language teaching and learning. His current research focus is on the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in language teaching and learning, particularly their potential to enhance instructional practices, and improve language-learning outcomes. IML wishes him best for all his future endeavours.

The Institute of Modern Languages (IML), Jagannath University, is pleased to announce that our alumnus Avijit Sana has joined the Department of English, Bangladesh Army University of Science and Technology (BAUST), Saidpur, as a Lecturer in English.

Before joining BAUST, he served as a Lecturer at World University of Bangladesh (WUB) and Cambrian Institute of Modern Languages (CIML). His academic interests include Language Teaching Methodologies, AI in ELT, and Sociolinguistics. He has presented papers at national and international conferences, and one of his research articles has been accepted for publication in the TESOL Bangladesh Journal (TBJ).

Avijit Sana, a former student of the Institute of Modern Languages (IML), has joined the Department of English at World University of Bangladesh (WUB) as a Lecturer in English.

Prior to joining WUB, he served as a Lecturer of English Language at the Cambrian Institute of Modern Languages (CIML), where he was actively involved in English language teaching and academic development.

His research interests include Contemporary Language Teaching Methodologies (particularly Post-Method Pedagogy and Eclecticism), Artificial Intelligence in English Language Teaching (AI in ELT), and Sociolinguistics.

His research article titled "Integration of ICT in ELT at the General Public Universities in Dhaka City: Challenges and Strategic Implementation" has been accepted for publication in the TESOL Bangladesh Journal (TBJ) and is currently in the publication process. He has also presented research papers at national and international conferences and participated in several global academic webinars, reflecting his commitment to continuous professional development and scholarly engagement.

He is dedicated to promoting innovative, learner-centered, and technology-enhanced English language education through effective teaching, meaningful research, and active academic collaboration.

Muhib Aahsan Chowdhury , a former student of IML, session 2018-19, has joined the Department of Humanities at Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (RUET) as a Lecturer in English today.

Prior to joining RUET, he served as a Lecturer in English at Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST).

He was also a recipient of the prestigious Dean's Award of Jagannath University 2026 for his excellent academic performance.

His research interests include English Language Teaching (ELT), applied linguistics, and technology-enhanced language learning. Recently, he published his first research article, **"Analyzing Pandemic Learning Gaps: Effects of Online Education on English Language Skills among Tertiary-Level Students in Dhaka," in the journal Mother Languages (Vol. 9, Issue 2, July–December), published by the International Mother Language Institute .

He is committed to advancing excellence in English language education through quality teaching, research, and academic engagement. IML family wishes him best for all his future endeavours.

⚽ What an incredible tournament! The IML Football League Season 2 was a massive success! 🎉

Our goal was simple: to bring everyone under one umbrella through the love of football. Seeing former students from the 13th, 14th, and 15th batches sharing the field and having fun side-by-side with our running batches was an absolute joy. It was a day full of sportsmanship, unity, and unforgettable memories!

A total of 6 amazing teams battled it out on the field:
Batch 13/14 (Combined), Batch 15/21 (Combined), Batch 16, Batch 17/18 (Combined), Batch 19, Batch 20
