(১) (প্রতিকৃতি-অঙ্কন, আলোকচিত্রগ্রহণ ইত্যাদির আগে) কাঙ্ক্ষিত ভঙ্গিতে স্থাপন করা।
(২) pose (for) (প্রতিকৃতি ইত্যাদির জন্য) অবস্থান গ্রহণ করা; বসা: He agreed to pose for me.
(৩) আলোচনায় পেশ/উত্থাপন করা; সৃষ্টি/জন্মদান করা: Technological innovation sometimes poses serious problems for the environment.

■ Pose (noun)
(১) (প্রতিকৃতি ইত্যাদির জন্য) ভঙ্গি: an unusual pose.
(২) (তাক লাগানোর জন্য) কৃত্রিম আচরণ; ভঙ্গি; ভান; বিলাস: His love for democracy is a mere pose.
poser (noun) বিব্রতকর প্রশ্ন; কূটপ্রশ্ন।

Poach [পোচ্] verb থেকে আসুন, Poach [পোচ্] কি জেনে নিইঃ
➊ প্রথমত, Poach [পোচ্] : (ডিম) খোসা ভেঙে ফুটন্ত জলে ফেলে অথবা তেলে ভেজে ঈষৎ পক্ব করা; (মানে আমরা যেভাবে ডিম পোচ করি। She poaches an egg for me.
➋ দ্বিতীয়তো, Poach [পোচ্] : পরের সম্পত্তিতে ঢুকে খরগোশ, হরিণ, পাখি, স্যামন মাছ ইত্যাদি) বেআইনিভাবে ধরা; বুনো পশুপাখি বা মাছ চুরি করা:
poach hares; poach for salmon;
বাংলাদেশে যেসব অতিথি পাখি শীতকালে বেড়াতে আসে তা বেআইনিভাবে ধরা ই হচ্ছে, Illegal poaching of guest birds.
→আবার শুধুই মাছ, পাখি , হরিণ শিকার নয়, সেই সাথে অন্যের অধিকারভুক্ত (কিংবা অন্যে তার অধিকারভুক্ত বলে মনে করে এমন) কোনো কাজে আত্মনিয়োগ করা; অনধিকার প্রবেশ করা অর্থে Poach on/for sth ব্যবহৃত হয়।
যেমন,
➞প্রতিবেশীর জমী অবৈধ ব্যবহার/হরণ করা।
poach on a neighbour’s land.
➞ গ্রামের হাতুড়ি ডাক্তাররা তাদেরকে প্রশিক্ষণপ্রাপ্ত ডাক্তারদের স্থলে আত্মনিয়োগ করে থাকেন।
The village quacks are poaching on the preserves of trained doctors.
তাহলে,
Poach [পোচ্] verb টির সঠিক ব্যবহারঃ

অতিথি পাখি হরণ বা ধরা
→Poach on/for sth
কারো জমি/যায়গা/সুজোগ নিজের কাজে বেআইনিভাবে ব্যবহার করা/দখল করা/আত্ননিয়োগ করে থাকা।
pervasive [পাভেইসিভ্] (adjective)
পরিব্যাপক, অনুপ্রবেশপ্রবণ, ব্যাপ্তিশীল।
শব্দের সঠিক ব্যবহার না জানলে শব্দার্থ মুখস্থ করে লাভ নেই। আসুন pervasive [পাভেইসিভ্] মানে কি শিখি।
→ pervasive [পাভেইসিভ্] মানে হচ্ছে এমন এমন অবস্থায় শব্দটি মেরে দিবেন যে যে অবস্থায় কোন মহামারি/সমস্যা কোন একটা দেশে/স্থানে এলাকায় ব্যাপক বিস্তার লাভ করতে যাচ্ছে/ছড়িয়ে পড়েছে বা এভেইলেবল হয়ে যাচ্ছে এবং গেছে এমন।
যেমন, বাংলাদেশে, ইস্যু পেলেই সেটা ভাইরাল করা চাই। সামাজিক যোগাযোগ মাধ্যমগুলিতে এখন এই সমস্যাটা এতটাই pervasive [পাভেইসিভ্] যে তা যেকোন সময় ভয়াবহ আকার ধারণ করতে পারে।

= নকল করা যে-কতটা ব্যাপক রূপ ধারণ করেছে, তা দেখে শিক্ষকবৃন্দ রীতিমতো অবাক হয়ে গেছে!

➤ 05. According to a report by this newspaper, 400-500 people are involved in hunting migratory birds in just one upazilla.

➤ 06. One can only imagine how pervasive and severe the problem is in other upazillas and districts.

➤ 07. The report also estimates that a “professional” hunter can catch half a dozen to two dozen birds in a single day.

➤ 08. They sell these birds in the open market for a few hundred takas.

➤ 09. Yet, the local police and other relevant government agencies haven't taken a single step to prevent this from happening.

➤ 10. Also known as “guest birds” as they come from the remotest corners of the world like Siberia, migratory birds travel across hundreds or even thousands of miles.

➤ 11. And, birds generally reflect the trends affecting the entire region's biodiversity.

➤ 12. By conserving these birds, the conservation of biodiversity can be ensured on a wider scale.

➤ 13. Very few people in rural areas would be aware of the importance of protecting migratory birds.

➤ 14. It is, therefore, imperative that the authorities concerned take serious steps to make local people aware of it.

➤ 15. Bangladesh has quite a stringent law to protect migratory birds, in particular, and wildlife, in general.

➤ 16. However, as evident in the abovementioned case, the law has barely been enforced.

➤ 17. Along with awareness campaigns, the authorities must be proactive in taking steps against illegal hunters and poachers in accordance with the law.
