Dear school life,

Before we parted ways, I loathed you. I never valued you the things you have given me – friendship, education, first love, and lessons that’ll come handy in life.

You gave me friends and had people around me from the very first day of school. You welcomed my small steps through the big gate. I was crying as the teacher took me away. The big playground that I saw later that day, well, let’s say the big space made me stop crying.

I wonder if you remember the footprints of every child who walks into your sacred land? Or do you forget them after we leave?

You have seen the best of me. When I ranked first in fifth grade. And you’ve witnessed the worst of me – when I bunked a class and got caught by the teacher. You’ve prepared me to love, to be a better friend. You’ve seen me crying in the bathroom and you’ve seen me stand up to the bullies. You’ve witnessed me cheating and you’ve seen me fail.

I ran in your grounds, and I ran every day in that space, for 15 years, and somewhere in between, I grew up. On the last day of school, I turned around one last time to see you – and my life came back to me – it was like my dying moment.

I may have entered the school with a water bottle hanging around my shoulder and one hand guiding me into the classroom, but I left with six friends, favourite teachers, and a thousand stories that I’ll recall always. I entered the school crying, and I left it crying.

Because of you, I met some idiots who are like my lifelines, despite being in another city. Now, I know, parent-teacher meetings and annual exams were much easier than dealing with 6 semesters, countless assignments and placements.

Thank you for happening in my life. I miss you.

This is the first ever image of a black hole, taken by the Event Horizon Telescope. The super massive black hole pictured is at the center of Messier 87, a massive galaxy in the constellation of Virgo. It’s located 55 million light-years from Earth and has a mass 6.5 billion times larger than our sun. This is a huge achievement, not only because its confirms Einstein’s General Theory of Relativity, but because it opens up the possibility for visual observations of a black hole’s immediate environment.

I miss my school days, where we all friends played together,
We played the games of true friendship,
And promised to be friends for forever,
We played the games of love, which we never gonna forget.
