🎉 Meet Kazi Nasrin Siddiqa, a trailblazer in gender equity and STEM education! 👩‍🏫🌍

With 24 years of dedication as an educationist and development practitioner, Nasrin has advanced women’s empowerment, quality education, community development, and environmental causes. She founded the ECS – Education & Cultural Society and has also worked with the World Bank’s Education Global Practice. 🌱📚

Nasrin’s flagship project launched in 2015 has opened doors for rural girls in STEM, establishing 100 STEM clubs and training over 2,000 teachers for gender-sensitive classrooms. Let’s celebrate her commitment to building a brighter future for all! 🌟🚀

DG BIMRAD met with Kazi Nasrin Siddiqa, President and Executive Director of the Education and Cultural Society (ECS), at BIMRAD’s office. The discussions centered on promoting maritime literacy in coastal communities and addressing critical issues such as marine pollution, climate change, and disaster preparedness.

Kazi Nasrin Siddiqa’s vast expertise in education and community services was highlighted as a vital resource in developing targeted programs for these communities, mainly focusing on empowering women and girls. Both organizations explored potential collaborations to enhance maritime education, climate resilience, and gender equity in the maritime sector. Key areas of cooperation include building community-based initiatives, environment education in coastal areas (E-STEM), climate change awareness in coastal areas, and raising awareness about marine pollution. BIMRAD looks forward to working together with ECS to drive impactful changes and promote the well-being of Bangladesh’s coastal populations.

ECS is proud to announce a dynamic collaboration with YYVentures and the Yunus Center 3Z Global Center, inspired by the visionary mission of Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus. Together, we are committed to realizing the dream of a world with three zeros: zero net carbon emissions, zero wealth concentration to end poverty, and zero net unemployment by unleashing entrepreneurship in all.
Over the past 14 years, ECS has pioneered transformative initiatives in STEM education, environmental sustainability, girls' and women’s rights, heritage preservation, women entrepreneurship, agriculture, social and cultural development, health and wellbeing, and Positive Youth Development (PYD). Now, with the support of our new partners, we are poised to tackle the most pressing social and environmental challenges of our time.
As Professor Yunus reminds us, “We can create a world where there is no poverty, no unemployment, and no carbon emissions. All it takes is a little bit of imagination and the willingness to act.” We are calling on the youth of Bangladesh and the world—aged 12 to 35—to join us in this mission. Whether as a navigator or co-navigator, support person there’s a place for everyone in this movement to create lasting change.
Our journey begins on September 6, 2024, with the official launch of this initiative at one of our ECS Creative Learning Centers. This inaugural event will bring together youth, young mothers, community members, ECS youth teams, members, and advisors, all united by the common goal of building a better world.
