Department of Occupational and Environmental Health (DOEH) of Bangladesh University of Health
Sciences (BUHS) is the second of its kind in Bangladesh. The mission of the Department of Occupational & Environmental Health is to produce manpower who will address occupational and environmental health issues with their skills and knowledge that are in demand in Bangladesh as well as in the current world situation. The department offers the related professional programmes for undergraduate students such as Bachelor of Public Health in Environmental Health & Safety and Occupational Health & Safety; and Master Programmes such as MPH in Environmental Health & Safety and Occupational Health & Safety. Both the graduate and master programmes of this department combine academic training, field activities and research to prepare the students to meet the demand in the job market as well as for their career success in a variety of occupations in industries, governmental organizations, NGOs and institutes as management, specialist, consultant and expert. Another mission of this department is to perform high level research work on occupational and environmental health problems and the effects of the population exposed to the chemical, physical, biological and other factors in the environment and in occupation. This department is dedicated to equip the professionals to make an impact on the health of the individuals, groups, or populations in workplace or in community. The devoted faculties of this department are committed to achieve their mission to improve occupational and environmental health and safety for present and future generations through teaching, training and research, and consultancy services.
