Assalamu Alaikum. With profound sorrow, the Department of Law, Green University of Bangladesh, organized a solemn Dua & Prayer Ceremony in loving memory of our beloved student, Nafis Ashraf (ID: 251011076), a second-year LL.B. student of the Department of Law. The ceremony was held on Monday, 10 August 2026, from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Multipurpose Hall. The gathering brought together the university authorities, faculty members, administrative staff, and students to remember Nafis with respect and affection and to offer collective prayers for the eternal peace and forgiveness of his departed soul.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of the Honourable Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Mohammad Shorif Uddin, who expressed his heartfelt condolence for the departed soul and extended his sympathy to the bereaved family. Prof. Dr. Khawza Iftekhar Uddin Ahmed, Pro Vice-Chancellor; Professor Dr. Md. Fayzur Rahman, Honorable Treasurer; Professor Dr. S. M. Hassan Talukder, Honorable Dean, Faculty of Law; and Dr. Md. Mehedi Hasan, Proctor, also shared their profound condolences and offered prayers for the departed soul. Their presence and words of compassion provided strength and solace to all those affected by this tragic loss.

The ceremony also provided an opportunity for the respected faculty members and Nafis’s classmates to share their cherished memories, express their heartfelt condolences, and reflect upon his life and presence within the Department. The program concluded with a heartfelt speech by Dr. Md. Arifuzzaman, Honorable Chairperson, Department of Law, followed by the Dua conducted by Hafej Quari Mawlana Md. Firozul Alam, Imam of the GUB Mosque. The collective prayers and reflections made the occasion a deeply meaningful expression of remembrance, solidarity, and compassion for Nafis and his bereaved family.

The Department of Law sincerely appreciates the presence, prayers, condolences, and support extended by all respected colleagues, university authorities, faculty members, staff, students, and well-wishers during this difficult time. May Allah (SWT) forgive Nafis Ashraf’s shortcomings, grant him eternal peace and the highest place in Jannatul Firdaus, and grant his family, friends, teachers, classmates, and all who mourn his loss Sabr (patience), strength, and solace to endure this profound grief.

The Department of Law and Green University Law and Mooting Society successfully organized the Intra-Department Law Futsal Tournament 2026 on 10–11 August 2026 at the Central Field of Green University of Bangladesh.
The tournament commenced with an inspiring Opening Ceremony, graced by the Honorable Vice Chancellor, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Treasurer, Dean, Proctor, and Chairperson, Department of Law, alongside respected faculty members and students.
Over two action-packed days, 8 teams representing different batches competed through the Group Stages, Semi-Finals, and Grand Finale, creating an atmosphere of enthusiasm, healthy competition, teamwork, and camaraderie beyond academic boundaries.

The memorable Award Ceremony marked the conclusion of the tournament, celebrating outstanding performances and reinforcing the importance of sports alongside academics.
The Intra-Department Law Futsal Tournament 2026 has further strengthened student unity, campus fellowship, and the athletic tradition of the Department of Law.

Library Orientation Program, organized in collaboration with the Department of Law was held on Sunday, 2 August 2026, at 9:00 a.m., in the Multipurpose Hall (B-103). The program was designed to familiarize newly admitted students with the Library's collections, services, facilities, borrowing policies, rules and regulations, and digital resources. It also featured live demonstrations on searching, accessing, and utilizing the Library's electronic resources. Approximately 45 students participated in the program.

The session commenced with welcoming remarks by Mr. Md. Amor Bin Faruk, a student of Batch 241 in the Department of Law, who served as the program anchor. He warmly welcomed the participants and introduced the distinguished guest, Ms. Tanusree Devi Asha, Lecturer, Department of Law, and Executive Committee Member of the Green University Library; Ms. Thahrim Sultana Mim, Student Representative of the Green University Library; and Mr. Syed Md. Alamgir Hussain, a student of Batch 223 and Student Mentor of the Department of Law.

The anchor then invited Mr. Syed Md. Alamgir Hussain to share his academic experiences with the newly admitted students. In his motivational remarks, he highlighted the importance of making effective use of the Library throughout university life and reminded students to renew borrowed books on time to avoid overdue fines. Following his speech, Ms. Thahrim Sultana Mim encouraged the freshers to develop a regular habit of using the Library. She emphasized that the Library is an indispensable partner in academic success and urged students to take full advantage of its resources and services from the very beginning of their university journey.

The technical session was conducted by Ms. Nawshaba Bulia, Library Officer, Green University Library. She delivered a comprehensive presentation on the Library's print and electronic collections, circulation services, study facilities, borrowing policies, e-library platform, remote access services, and library rules and regulations. The session also featured live demonstrations on searching the Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC), accessing e-books, e-journals, scholarly databases, and downloading academic resources from subscribed publishers using effective search strategies.

Following the technical session, the anchor invited a fresher, Ms. Rubaida Rahmot Ullah, to share her reflections on the orientation program. She expressed appreciation for the informative and interactive session and conveyed enthusiasm for using the Library's resources and services throughout her academic journey. Her encouraging remarks inspired fellow students to engage actively with the Library from the outset of their university life.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the program anchor, who expressed sincere appreciation to the Department of Law, the distinguished guests, faculty members, student volunteers, the organizing team, and all participating students for their valuable support and active participation in making the event a success.

The Department of Law, Green University of Bangladesh successfully organized the Orientation Programme for the newly admitted LL.B. (Honours) and LL.M. Fall 2026 students on 28 July 2026. The programme warmly welcomed the new cohort and introduced them to the University's academic environment, values, and opportunities.
Graced by distinguished guests, including the Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor, Treasurer, Dean of the Faculty of Law, esteemed faculty members, and a distinguished alumnus, the event featured inspiring addresses, an interactive session, and an introduction to the Department's Mentorship Programme. The speakers encouraged students to uphold integrity, pursue academic excellence, and actively engage in both academic and co-curricular activities.
