Assalamu Alaikum. With profound sorrow, the Department of Law, Green University of Bangladesh, organized a solemn Dua & Prayer Ceremony in loving memory of our beloved student, Nafis Ashraf (ID: 251011076), a second-year LL.B. student of the Department of Law. The ceremony was held on Monday, 10 August 2026, from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Multipurpose Hall. The gathering brought together the university authorities, faculty members, administrative staff, and students to remember Nafis with respect and affection and to offer collective prayers for the eternal peace and forgiveness of his departed soul.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of the Honourable Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Mohammad Shorif Uddin, who expressed his heartfelt condolence for the departed soul and extended his sympathy to the bereaved family. Prof. Dr. Khawza Iftekhar Uddin Ahmed, Pro Vice-Chancellor; Professor Dr. Md. Fayzur Rahman, Honorable Treasurer; Professor Dr. S. M. Hassan Talukder, Honorable Dean, Faculty of Law; and Dr. Md. Mehedi Hasan, Proctor, also shared their profound condolences and offered prayers for the departed soul. Their presence and words of compassion provided strength and solace to all those affected by this tragic loss.
The ceremony also provided an opportunity for the respected faculty members and Nafis’s classmates to share their cherished memories, express their heartfelt condolences, and reflect upon his life and presence within the Department. The program concluded with a heartfelt speech by Dr. Md. Arifuzzaman, Honorable Chairperson, Department of Law, followed by the Dua conducted by Hafej Quari Mawlana Md. Firozul Alam, Imam of the GUB Mosque. The collective prayers and reflections made the occasion a deeply meaningful expression of remembrance, solidarity, and compassion for Nafis and his bereaved family.
The Department of Law sincerely appreciates the presence, prayers, condolences, and support extended by all respected colleagues, university authorities, faculty members, staff, students, and well-wishers during this difficult time. May Allah (SWT) forgive Nafis Ashraf’s shortcomings, grant him eternal peace and the highest place in Jannatul Firdaus, and grant his family, friends, teachers, classmates, and all who mourn his loss Sabr (patience), strength, and solace to endure this profound grief.
