IoT Lab - DIU

We are happy to announce that the IoT Lab, Department of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE), Daffodil International University, has started the installation of devices at the field level at Lalashorai Tekpara, Mirpur-14, Dhaka, as part of an ongoing research project in collaboration with WaterAid Bangladesh.

A team from the IoT Lab, led by the Lab Officer and team members, visited the project area and successfully installed 3 devices in 3 different households. During the installation process, the team closely worked with local community members and representatives to ensure smooth setup and proper operation of the devices.

The IoT Lab team is committed to continuing this work with dedication, addressing technical and field-level challenges, and moving forward toward successful implementation of the project.

We are proud to share that 3 teams from the IoT Lab, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Daffodil International University participated in the Poster Presentation Competition organized by the Division of Research (DoR), DIU on 13 May 2026.

The participants successfully presented their work and received certificates in recognition of their participation and contribution.

The competition created a valuable platform for students to share their research ideas with peers, faculty members, and industry professionals. It also encouraged intellectual exchange, collaboration, and discussion within the academic community. Such opportunities inspire students to explore innovative ideas and understand how research can create real-world impact.

A delegation led by Mr. Shabbir A Hasan, President of the Bangladesh–Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry, visited the DMA–DIU Tech Hub on 23 April 2026.

A team from the IoT Lab, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Daffodil International University was also present during the visit. The Convener of the IoT Lab, along with the students, demonstrated the ongoing projects of the IoT Lab to the delegation.

The delegation showed great interest in the projects and expressed their appreciation for the innovative work. They also shared positive feedback and valuable suggestions, which will help further improve the projects.

Such visits inspire us to continue our efforts in research, innovation, and real-world problem-solving through technology.

On 21 April 2026, a team from WaterAid Bangladesh visited the IoT Lab, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Daffodil International University and observed the ongoing research project being conducted in collaboration with WaterAid Bangladesh, which is currently in the field testing stage.

After the lab visit and project observation, the team met with Professor Mohammed Masum Iqbal, PhD, Honorable Pro Vice Chancellor of Daffodil International University, along with the Coordinator and Lab Officer of the IoT Lab. A fruitful discussion was held focusing on industry–academia collaboration, real-life problem-solving research, and future opportunities to work together.

The discussion created a positive direction for strengthening collaboration and expanding impactful research initiatives.

A team from WaterAid Bangladesh visited the IoT Lab, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Daffodil International University on 21 April 2026.

During the visit, they explored the activities and ongoing work of the IoT Lab. The Lab Coordinator and the Lab Officer of the IoT Lab were present during the visit and shared insights about the lab’s initiatives and projects.

The team from the WaterAid Bangladesh expressed their appreciation after observing the activities and the dedication of the students. They also visited the ongoing research project being conducted by the IoT Lab-DIU in collaboration with WaterAid Bangladesh and shared their positive feedback.

The visiting team conveyed their best wishes for the overall success of the project. Such visits strengthen collaboration and inspire us to continue working on impactful and real-world solutions through technology.

The project has recently entered the field testing stage. During this phase, Dr. S. M. Aminul Haque, Professor & Associate Head of the Department of CSE and Convener of the IoT Lab, visited the field test site to observe the progress of the research. He carefully reviewed the ongoing activities and shared his valuable suggestions to further improve the project and ensure its successful implementation. His guidance has motivated the team to continue working with dedication and focus.

The session was graced by the presence of Dr. S. M. Aminul Haque, Professor & Associate Head of CSE and Convener of the IoT Lab, who shared valuable insights and guidance with the students.

The discussion created awareness about practical project opportunities and encouraged students to engage in real-world problem-solving through technology.

Such initiatives help students gain hands-on experience and prepare themselves for future challenges.
