On 10 May, Daffodil International University welcomed a distinguished delegation of Deans, Directors, Professors, and Officials from China 🇨🇳, representing Hubei University, Hubei Engineering University, China Three Gorges University, and the Hubei International Science & Technology Exchange Center.

The visit included a campus tour and productive high tea discussions on student and faculty exchange, language programs, joint research, conferences, internships, scholarships, and future academic partnerships. The program concluded with remarks from our Pro Vice Chancellor and a symbolic gift exchange, strengthening international friendship and collaboration.

Under an extensive academic program in Italy 🇮🇹 from 27 April to 8 May 2026, Dr. Md. Abdul Kabil Khan, Associate Professor, Department of Journalism, Media and Communication at DIU, visited several prestigious institutions in Catania and Rome. At the University of Catania, Dr. Khan delivered lectures on Community Digital Storytelling, while at the University of International Studies of Rome, he conducted a doctoral seminar on multimedia and participatory journalism in Bangladesh 🇧🇩.

He also led seminars at LUMSA University and Sapienza University of Rome on Bangladesh’s current state, the Indo-Pacific region, and migration flows. The program concluded with discussions at SIOI and the National Council of the Order of Journalists on communication and journalistic organizations in Italy and Bangladesh.

Daffodil International University, actively joined the ‘𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐚-𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐡 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐮𝐦 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔’, 🇨🇳🇧🇩 organized by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Bangladesh, undertaken by the China-Bangladesh Education and Cultural Exchange Association held at the International Mother Language Institute, Dhaka on May 9, 2026. DIU signed partnership agreements with 3 Chinese universities entitled Hubei University, Hubei Engineering University, and Hubei University of Chinese Medicine to strengthen cooperation in higher education, research, innovation, healthcare education, student exchange, and skill development initiatives.

The prestigious forum was graced by His Excellency Dr. A N M Ehsanul Hoque Milon, MP, Honorable Minister, Ministry of Education, Bangladesh, as Chief Guest, while His Excellency Mr. Yao Wen, Honorable Ambassador of China to Bangladesh, chaired the program. The event was also attended by Dr. Mahdi Amin, Education Adviser to the Honorable Prime Minister, Professor Dr. Mamun Ahmed, Chairman of the UGC of Bangladesh, and distinguished policymakers, vice-chancellors, academicians, and industry leaders from Bangladesh and China.

DIU-DoR Poster Presentation 2026 brought together the creativity, curiosity, and research potential of young minds at Daffodil International University.

A total of 122 student research posters from six faculties were showcased at Knowledge Tower, DSC, highlighting innovative ideas and impactful research across technology, health, agriculture, business, social science, and engineering.

The Honorable Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. M. R. Kabir, visited the presentation venues and inspired students to continue exploring bold ideas and meaningful research for the future of Bangladesh. The event concluded with a certificate giving ceremony recognizing the dedication and achievements of all participating researchers.

We welcomed 12 leading 🇲🇾 Malaysian universities to Daffodil International University on 10 May 2026 for the exclusive seminar “𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧 & 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐞: 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬,” presented by Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS), the official gateway to studying in Malaysia under Malaysia’s Ministry of Higher Education. The program enabled DIU students to learn about each university’s unique offerings, programs, scholarships, and future opportunities. It also served as a vibrant platform for direct engagement with university representatives and helped students gain a clearer vision of studying abroad. Professor Mohammed Masum Iqbal, PhD, Pro-Vice Chancellor of DIU joined the program and thanked the delegation for their visit and support.

Congratulations to Khalid Md. Bahauddin, Assistant Professor of Environmental Science and Disaster Management (ESDM) and Lead of the Center for Sustainable Innovation and Resilient Futures (CSIRF) at Daffodil International University, for receiving the prestigious Global Media Defence Fund (GMDF) by UNESCO HQ, Paris.

His project, “Voices of Justice,” aims to empower environmental journalists working on climate change, pollution, deforestation, and environmental justice through training, advocacy, peer support, and an innovative AI-powered support tool for journalists in Bangladesh. The initiative also emphasizes creating a safer and more inclusive environment for female environmental journalists.
This achievement reflects DIU’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, social impact, and supporting changemakers who work towards a more resilient and informed future.

Global experts, researchers, and policymakers gathered at Daffodil International University to discuss the growing challenges of indoor air pollution and its impact on public health and sustainability.

Organized in collaboration with the World University Association for Community Development (WUACD) and Universitas Airlangga, the symposium featured keynote speeches by Professor Dr. Muhammad Aziz Rahman from Federation University Australia and Dr. Eng. Sapto Andriyono from WUACD, Indonesia. Valuable insights were also shared by Prof. Mohammad Jamal Uddin of Jahangirnagar University and Dr. Md. Enamul Haque, Additional Secretary & Director General, Health Services Division, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Bangladesh. Distinguished national and international speakers discussed air quality, public health, and sustainable solutions aligned with the SDGs.

The symposium concluded with remarks from Professor Mohammed Masum Iqbal, PhD, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Daffodil International University, reaffirming DIU’s commitment to research, sustainability, and community-driven impact.
