𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐡 (𝐒𝐔𝐁) 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐡 (𝐖𝐁𝐁) 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐒𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐚 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐦 𝐨𝐟 𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 (𝐌𝐨𝐔)

On Saturday, 18 July 2026, the SUB and WBB trust officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the SUB board Room, marking the beginning of a promising partnership to excel public health research and education in Bangladesh. This collaboration aims to strengthen research collaboration, create internship opportunities for students, organize joint training programs, seminars, workshops, and community engagement initiatives to foster social development
The MoU was signed on behalf of WBB Trust by Ms. Gaous Pearee, Director and Ms. Sanjida Akter, Communication officer. On behalf of State University of Bangladesh, the MoU was signed by Dr. Ahmed Hussain, PhD, Registrar and Ms. Farhana Sharmin, Additional Registrar.

The ceremony was graced by the Honorable Vice Chancellor of SUB, Professor Dr. Md. Akhter Hossain Khan, PhD, Dr. Quazi Ahmed Zaki, PhD, Director IEDCR, senior Adjunct faculty Dr. Abu Jamil Faisel and Prof. Dr. Shamsun Nahar, PhD. Among others the event was also attended by the Deans of the different Schools, Faculties, Principal and Vice-Principal of State College of Health Science, representatives from ICDDR, B, IEDCR; PHF, PHAB; the Chairman of Dhaka City Physiotherapy Hospital; media representatives; and many others.
This initiative was led by Prof. Dr. Md. Anower Hussain, PhD, Chairman, Department of Public Health, SUB, who also serves as the Chairman, Center for National & International Cooperation (CNIC). The event was coordinated by Md. Allama Faysal, Assistant Professor and Coordinator of the Department of Public Health, State University of Bangladesh.

The signing of this MoU marks the beginning of a strategic partnership between the two institutions, fostering collaboration and innovation to address emerging public health challenges and promote evidence-based solutions for the well-being of the people of Bangladesh

On Tuesday, 30 June 2026, the State University of Bangladesh (SUB) and SERAC-Bangladesh officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the SUB Boardroom, marking the beginning of a promising partnership to empower youth and strengthen academic collaboration. This collaboration aims to, promote youth leadership and development, strengthen research collaboration, create internship opportunities for students, organize joint training programs, seminars, workshops, and community engagement initiatives, foster future collaborations in public health, education, and social development

The MoU was signed on behalf of State University of Bangladesh (SUB) by Honorable Treasurer Prof. Dr. Md. Hassan Kawsar, and on behalf of SERAC-Bangladesh by Mr. SM Shaikat, Executive Director.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by Farhana Sharmin, Additional Registrar, SUB, and Dr. Izzy Justice, pioneering sports neuroscientist, best-selling author, peak performance coach, and founder of neuro580gives, whose presence added great value to this memorable occasion.

This initiative was led by Prof. Dr. Md. Anower Hussain, Chairman, Department of Public Health, SUB, who also serves as Chairman, Center for National & International Cooperation (CNIC). Heartfelt thanks to him for his visionary leadership in making this collaboration possible.

🧠 Workshop Highlights | 30 June 2026 🧠

The Department of Public Health, State University of Bangladesh (SUB) in collaboration with SERAC-Bangladesh successfully organized the workshop “𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬” on 30 June 2026 at Scholars' Inn, SUB.

We were honored to have Prof. Dr. Md. Hassan Kawsar, Honorable Treasurer of SUB, as the Chief Guest, and Dr. Izzy Justice, Pioneering Sports Neuroscientist, Best-Selling Author, Peak Performance Coach, and Founder of neuro580gives, as the Keynote Speaker. We were also delighted to welcome Mr. SM Shaikat, Executive Director of SERAC-Bangladesh, as the Special Guest.

Dr. Izzy Justice delivered an engaging and interactive session on mental wellness, introducing practical brain hacks and evidence-based techniques, including the 10-2 Method and 4-2-8 Breathing Technique, to help participants manage stress, improve focus, and enhance emotional well-being through guided practice.

The workshop was chaired by Prof. Dr. Md. Anower Hussain, Chairman, Department of Public Health, SUB, and brought together students, faculty members, and public health professionals for an inspiring learning experience. The workshop was coordinated & moderated by Md. Allama Faysal, Lecturer & Coordinator, Department of Public Health.

🌿 Seminar Highlights | 28 June 2026 🌿

The Department of Public Health, State University of Bangladesh (SUB) successfully organized the seminar "Healthy Beginnings, Stronger Futures: Reimagining Maternal and Child Health."

We were deeply honored to have Prof. Dr. Md. Akhter Hossain Khan, Honorable Vice Chancellor of SUB, as the Chief Guest, whose inspiring remarks emphasized the importance of strengthening public health systems for healthier generations.

Our heartfelt gratitude goes to Prof. Dr. Shafi Bhuiyan, Professor and Co-founder of the MScCH & CPH Program for IEHPs, University of Toronto, Canada, for delivering an outstanding keynote address. His presentation highlighted the remarkable achievements of Japan's Maternal and Child Health (MCH) system, demonstrating how long-term investment in primary healthcare, community participation, and preventive services has transformed maternal and child health outcomes. He also introduced the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Handbook, explaining its vital role in ensuring continuity of care, empowering families, and improving communication between healthcare providers and parents.

We also sincerely thank Brig. Gen. (Retd.) Dr. Md. Afzalur Rahman, Principal, SCHS, for serving as the Discussant, providing insightful reflections that enriched the discussion.

Special appreciation goes to Prof. Dr. Md. Anower Hussain, Chairman, Department of Public Health, SUB, for chairing the seminar and guiding the program toward a meaningful and productive conclusion.

The seminar was attended by more than 110 participants, including students, faculty members, deans, chairman, and representatives from different departments of the State University of Bangladesh (SUB) and the State College of Health Sciences (SCHS), making it a vibrant platform for learning and knowledge exchange.
