From Stamford to Australia: A Remarkable Alumni Success Story-Dept. of Civil Engineering
The Students’ Welfare Office, Stamford University Bangladesh, proudly congratulates Foige Jahir, alumnus of the 2nd Batch of the Department of Civil Engineering, on his remarkable professional and academic journey.
Beginning his undergraduate studies at Stamford University Bangladesh in 2005, Foige Jahir graduated in 2009 and went on to build an impressive 17-year career in civil and structural engineering. His journey reflects determination, perseverance, continuous learning, and a strong commitment to professional excellence.
From starting his career as a Site Engineer and later working as a Design Engineer, he progressed through significant roles at Bangladesh Erectors Ltd. and Siemens Bangladesh Ltd., where he served as Civil Manager. He also played a key role as Civil Construction In-charge for PGCB’s 99 Substation Project, one of the largest substation projects in Bangladesh at the time.
Alongside his professional career, he completed his MBA from North South University in 2022. In 2023, he moved to Australia to pursue a Master’s in Civil Engineering at Curtin University, Perth, graduating in July 2025 with strong academic results.
His international career has further flourished through roles at Jacobs, Partum Engineering, and currently APD Global, Perth, where he serves as a Senior Structural Engineer.
His journey from Stamford University Bangladesh to a successful engineering career in Australia is an inspiring example for our current students and future graduates.
