Topic : "Why can't you divide by zero?"
โ€” by Alfi Al Jami
Roll : 2312
Section : Theta

Have you ever wondered why you can divide 10 by 2, 10 by 5, but never 10 by 0? Dividing means splitting something into equal groups. For example, 10 รท 2 = 5 means we split 10 into 2 equal groups, and each group has 5. But what would 10 รท 0 mean? It would mean splitting 10 into zero groups โ€” and that makes no logical sense. There are no groups to put the 10 into. Mathematically, division is the opposite of multiplication. If 10 รท 0 = x, then 0 ร— x should equal 10. But any number multiplied by 0 is always 0 โ€” never 10. So no number can satisfy that condition. Even more interesting, if we tried to divide by smaller and smaller numbers like 0.1, 0.01, or 0.001, the answer keeps getting bigger and bigger. As we approach zero, the value explodes toward infinity. Thatโ€™s why dividing by zero is undefined โ€” it breaks the fundamental rules of mathematics!
