MRCP VS MRCEM
আমরা কিছুদিন যাবত আমাদের জুনিয়র ডাক্তারদের মাঝে এই বিষয়ক কিছু প্রশ্ন দেখছি। MRCP নিয়ে আসলে বলার কিছু নেই নতুন করে। Royal College of Physicians আজ থেকে ৫০৪ বছর আগে ১৫১৮ সালে কিং হেনরি (অষ্টম) এর হাত ধরে স্থাপিত হয়।মেডিসিন এর ইতিহাসে এটিই প্রাচীনতম প্রতিষ্ঠান। MRCP(UK) এই প্রতিষ্ঠান এর সবচেয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ এবং এমন একটি Qualification যেটা নিয়ে একটা প্রবাদ প্রচলিত আছেঃ

MRCP(UK) পাশ করে আপনি ভবিষ্যতে ইংল্যান্ডে মেডিসিন স্পেশালিষ্ট হিসেবে যেমন কাজ করতে পারবেন, পাশাপাশি আপনার জন্য যে কোন সাবস্পেশালিটি তে সুইচ করার জন্য থাকছে অবারিত সুযোগ। ইচ্ছা করলে আপনি ইমারজেন্সী মেডিসিন, নিউরোলজি, কাডি'ওলজি সহ মেডিসিনের যে কোন ব্রাঞ্চ এ ট্রেইনিং এ ঢুকতে পারবেন। এমনকি Acute Medicine এর বেশিরভাগ চিকিৎসক ই বত'মানে MRCP(UK) পাশ করা । যারা Emergency Medicine এ ক্যারিয়ার করবেন তারা পরবতী'তে ট্রেনিং করতে পারেন Acute medicine এ এবং বেটার পোস্ট এর জন্য Acute Medicine Subspeciality Exam দিতে পারেন। এবং MRCP(UK ) করে আপনার মেডিসিনের যে কোন ব্রাঞ্চ এর পাশাপাশি ইমারজেন্সী মেডিসিন স্পেশালিষ্ট হতে বাধা নেই। সারমম' হল MRCP(UK) ইমারজেন্সী মেডিসিন সহ মেডিসিনের সব ব্রাঞ্চ এ যাওয়ার পথ খোলা রাখছে। পাশাপাশি MRCP(UK)
Worldwide সবচেয়ে বেশি প্রেস্টিজিয়াস এবং Well Recognized Qualification যেটাকে নতুন করে চিনানোর কিছু নেই। এমনকি বাংলাদেশের মেডিসিনের সব লিজেন্ড দের দিকে দেখলেও তার প্রতিফলন দেখতে পাবেন। শহীদডাঃ ফজলে রাব্বি স্যার , বারডেমের স্থপতি ডাঃ ইব্রাহীম স্যার , হাট' ফাউন্ডেশনের প্রতিষ্ঠাতা ব্রিগেডিয়ার মালেক স্যার সহ বহু মেডিসিনের লিজেন্ডদের মাথার মুকুট হল MRCP(UK).
এবার আসি MRCEM এর কথায়। এটিও অত্যন্ত ভালো একটি Qualifications. Worldwide ইমারজেন্সী মেডিসিন এখন একটি ডিমান্ডিং সাব্জেক্ট।এর সাথে সাথেই UK তে 1967 সালে RCEM স্থাপিত হয়। শুরুর দিকে যদিও ধীরলয়ে তারা কায'কম চালিয়েছেন, বত'মানে বেশ প্রভুত Developments রয়েছে এই কলেজের। তাদের প্রদত্ত MRCEM এখন একটু দেরীতে হলেও জনপ্রিয়তা পাচ্ছে UK তে ইমারজেন্সী মেডিসিন এ জব ভ্যাকান্সি থাকায় এবং ভাল স্যালারী থাকায়। ইমারজেন্সি মেডিসিন এ প্রচুর ডিউটি লোড এবং Stress থাকায় অনেকেই এই সাব্জেক্টে আসতে চান না।এজন্যই এত ভ্যাকান্সি। তাই এই সাব্জেক্টে আসলে দ্রুত ভালো স্যালারিতে UK তে জব পাওয়া যাবে এবং পরীক্ষাও MRCP(UK) থেকে তুলনামূলকভাবে সোজা যেহেতু সিলেবাস এ শুধু Medical Emergency কে নিয়েই বেশি প্রশ্ন থাকে (Not Whole Clinical Medicine). কিন্তু সমস্যা হল এই সাব্জেক্টে MRCEM করলে আপনি প্রথমেই আপনার লাইফে ইমারজেন্সী মেডিসিন বেছে নিলেন এবং বাকি জীবন আর কোন ব্রাঞ্চে যাওয়ার সু্যোগ থাকছে না। তুলনামূলকভাবে নতুন হওয়ায় UK এর বাইরে অনান্য দেশে গ্রহনযোগ্যতাও MRCP(UK) থেকে কম। জুনিয়র অনেকেই এখন এটা নিয়ে কনফিউশন এ ভুগছেন যে MRCP নাকি MRCEM?
আশা করি উত্তর পেয়ে গেছেন। এখানে আসলে তেমন জটিল কিছু নাই। আপনি যদি MRCP(UK) করেন আপনি আপনার জন্য সব পথ খোলা রাখছেন- যে কোন ব্রাঞ্চ( ইমারজেন্সী মেডিসিন সহ), বহু দেশে জব অপরচুনিটি, বাংলাদেশেও একটা প্রেস্টিজিয়াস Famous Degree এবং UK তে যে কোন সাব্জেক্টে জব৷ করার সুযোগঃ

MRCEM হল শুধুমাত্র তাদের জন্য যাদের কাছে ইমারজেন্সী মেডিসিন Passion. যারা ১০০% মনস্থির করেছেন যে UK তে ইমারজেন্সী মেডিসিন এ কাজ করাই আপনার জীবনের Aim সেটা যতই কঠিন এবং Stressful হোক না কেন। এখানে যারা ক্যারিয়ার করবেন তাদের Confusion এর সুযোগ নাই। আর আপনার যদি ১০% Confusion ও থাকে তাহলে আপনার জন্য MRCP(UK)- অবারিত সুযোগ ও সম্ভাবনা।
