🌍 Happy International Youth Day 2024! 🌍

Today, we celebrate the energy, creativity, and potential of young people across Bangladesh and around the world! 🎉

At The Duke of Edinburgh's Award Foundation Bangladesh, we believe in the power of youth to shape a better future. Through the Award program, we empower young people to challenge themselves, discover their passions, and make a positive impact in their communities.

This year's theme, "Youth Empowerment for a Sustainable Future," reminds us of the crucial role young people play in addressing global challenges. Whether it's through volunteering, skill-building, or outdoor adventures, our participants are leading the way towards a more sustainable and inclusive world. 🌱

Let's continue to support and inspire our youth to reach new heights and create lasting change. Together, we can build a brighter future for all! 💪✨

We’re pleased to share that applications are now open for the EU Empowerment Fund through the Global Youth Mobilization - Youth Led Solutions, until 21 July 2024.

This Open Call for the EU Youth Empowerment Fund is part of a partnership between the European Union and the Big Six Youth Organisations to empower young people to drive positive change in their communities by funding innovative local projects aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals. For example, sanitation, poverty, health and wellbeing, sustainable cities, climate, environment including life on land and sea, and economic growth.
With so many Award participants thinking of innovative solutions to accelerate progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as part of their Award programme, this is a fantastic opportunity for those young people to apply for this fund.
Individual young people and informal groups can apply to receive 500-1500 EUR, while registered youth organisations are eligible for 3000-5000 EUR to bring exciting opportunities to young people.

Application/projects are particularly welcomed from young people and communities from diverse backgrounds and underrepresented groups, including those from marginalised communities, lower socio-economic backgrounds and those facing gender or disability barriers.

You can access the application form here https://yef-gym.tfaforms.net/3 which is available in four languages, French, Spanish, Arabic and English. Our Story

The International Award is an exciting self-development programme available to all young people aged between 14 to 24 year olds. The Award launched back in 1956 by HRH The Duke of Edinburgh Prince Philip. The Programme has now spread in to 130 countries and Over 10 million young people worldwide have taken up the Award challenge.

On 20 August 2008, the former British High Commissioner to Bangladesh HE Mr. Stephen Evans initiated the programme in Dhaka for the students of 12 leading educational institutions. Within the first month 460 students enrolled in the award and started their journey towards exploring a better self.

Since the inception More than 23000 students from 93 leading institutions from Dhaka, Chittagong, Khulna, Mymensingh, Rangpur, Rajshahi, Sylhet enrolled for the Award.

The Award is tough but it is about individual challenge, not about reaching specific standards set by someone else. Young people design their own Award Programme, set their own goals, and record their own progress. The only person they compete against is themselves, by challenging their own beliefs about what they can achieve.

Young people who do the Award:

* Discover what they are made of
* Make an impact on their community
* Develop a set of life skills.
* Most of all, they have fun
