Shaheed Ramiz-Uddin was a Sipahi in Army.During liberation war of Bangladesh, he died while saving 21 person.After Independence, Bangladesh Government honored his sacrificeby giving title "Bir-Bikrom" .He was born in Sylhet. By hisname Cantonment Authority renamed the" Dhaka Cantonment School"to "Shahid Ramiz Uddin Cantonment College" during migration of institution from School to College in 1998.
The School wasestablished in the period of British India in 1939 as"Dhaka CantonmentSchool".After creation of Pakistan, the school was affiliated with Cantonment Board in 1952. In 1958, the school name was changed to "Field Marshal Aiyub Khan School".Between 1939 and 1998, the institution name was changed more than 12 times.ThisInstitution is run by"Cantonment Board" and "Station Commander wing" under "The Directorate of Military Lands and Cantonments". This College has two section after 1998, School Section and College section under Shahid Ramiz-Uddin Cantonment College Banner.From 2005 onwards the college is proving facilities for Degree (Pass andHon's) student under National University. The college has a immense campus with different department's building.Moreover, ithas a vast play ground (Field) for students.Evey year, Annual Cantonment Inter Sports has been organizing up in that premise. The College is located in Shahid Mannan Road,Cantonment Restricted Area, (Beside Air Port Road, Zia Colony & M.E.S), Dhaka Cantonment, Dhaka-1206. Each year, numerous merit students are securing their admission and passing out with remarkable result.The college contains 40% reserved seat for defense person.
