The 8th Jahangirnagar Model United Nations Conference (JMUN’26) officially began today at Jahangirnagar University, gathering passionate students, faculty, and distinguished guests to engage in diplomatic debate and collaborative problem-solving. Vice Chancellor Dr. Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan inaugurated the event, urging delegates to prioritize understanding over winning arguments.
Organized by JUMUNA, JMUN’26 features nine committees where national and international delegates will tackle pressing global challenges through research, negotiation, and respectful dialogue. Advisors and organizers highlighted the conference’s role in shaping ethical, globally minded leaders committed to sustainable solutions.
The first day ended with productive committee sessions and a lively social, giving delegates space to network and build friendships. With its theme of replacing confrontation with cooperation, JMUN’26 promises to nurture empathy, integrity, and practical leadership among the next generation of diplomats.
