Dr. Jannatul Mim represented BIID Foundation at the national workshop on β€œTransforming Food Systems for Sustainable Healthy Diets: Scopes and Gaps in the National Plan of Action (PoA) on UNFSS Pathway and the Way Forward”, organized by the Food Planning and Monitoring Unit (FPMU), Ministry of Food, in partnership with the CGIAR Better Diets and Nutrition (BDN) Program and IFPRI.

The workshop brought together distinguished policymakers, researchers, nutrition experts, development partners, and food system stakeholders to collectively shape a more sustainable, equitable, and nutrition-focused food future for Bangladesh.

As a participant, she had the opportunity to join group discussions and present key recommendations to strengthen the PoA, with a focus on community-level interventions, improved data and accountability mechanisms, and scaling nutrition-driven behavior change communication across grassroots networks.

Key reflections from our collective dialogue:
- The need for nutrition-sensitive, climate-resilient food systems
- Strong monitoring, research, and policy coherence for PoA implementation
- Multi-stakeholder partnerships from farm to food environments
- Ensuring equitable access to safe, diverse, and affordable healthy diets for all age groups

Grateful to the Ministry of Food and program partners for convening this timely and strategic dialogue. BIID Foundation remains committed to advancing nutrition, food safety, and sustainable food systems transformation in Bangladesh.

Together, we move forward toward a healthier, more resilient, and food-secure nation. πŸ‡§πŸ‡©
