So this is what happening...and what will be happening day after day; in every single disaster, whether that is environmental or human-made disaster. Government is waiting for NGO/voluntary initiatives (as the reality of Bangladesh is "There is a huge number of emotional people in this country and they can come forward in any situation when you will call for voluntary works"), high profile people are looking at government's initiative, tout researchers are waiting for donations and others are in a blank look because either they can't effort/don't have capability/unaware of the procedure for helping or they just don't know what to do/how to do for having less expertise/knowledge. And what's the result...thousands of news/sharing/attempt of initiative...but no effective result....4days have passed already!!!

WGSSEC is going to play a silence drama on freshers reception. The script is almost ready!!! Tomorrow around 10.30 the club executives will gather together to discuss more about the script and the background. The club executives will also reform the committee. All the present club executives are requested to attend the meeting tomorrow. All the other members or any DWGS student who want to be in the committee or want to work with WGSSEC should also attend the meeting!!! Cheers!!! :)

AFTER GETTING NUMEROUS REQUESTS FROM STUDENTS WHO ARE ATTENDING FINAL EXAMS TILL MID JUNE, WE HAVE EXTENDED THE DEADLINE OF OUR ESSAY COMPETITION!! SO, THIS TIME DON'T MISS IT!!
WGS Social and Environment Club (Department of Women and Gender Studies, University of Dhaka) is calling for Essays from the students of the Universities, Colleges on the following topic:

“Clean, Safe and Women Friendly Environment in Educational Institution for Sustainable Development”

“টেকসই উন্নয়নের লক্ষ্যে শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠানে পরিচ্ছন্ন, ঝুঁকিমুক্ত ও নারীবান্ধব পরিবেশ”

Award:
1. All writers will be nominated to participate in a seminar on gender, environment and development
2. Three best writers will be given certificates and crests. Those three writers will have chance to present their essay in front of experts and other participants

(Other information will be given after 31 June to the participants)

Information for Essay Writing:
1. An unpublished essay
2. Language: English or Bangla; Word Limit: Minimum 1200 words, Maximum 1500 words; Double Space, 12 Font (English)/ 14 Font (Bangla)
3. Three points are required to be covered in the essay- a) sound and clean environment;
b) gender relation with social and natural environment
c) possibilities and recommendation towards emancipation and empowerment
