National Trainers for the Professional Development Programme for Senior Faculty Members Higher Education Acceleration and Transformation (HEAT) Project | British Council The National Trainers (NTs) will play a key role in supporting the implementation, quality assurance, and long-term sustainability of the Professional Development Programme for Senior Facult

For four days, 23 facilitators from Chuadanga and Rangpur came together to refresh, reflect, and reimagine their role in advancing green entrepreneurship through the 𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 (𝐑𝐅𝐃𝐖) under the 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭: 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐄𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 (𝐘𝐆𝐄𝐃) project.

Participants from WAVE Foundation, Democracywatch, and SERAC-Bangladesh strengthened their knowledge, skills, and confidence to better support young people in building sustainable enterprises. The residential learning experience was hosted at Dream Square Resort, Gazipur.

By bringing facilitators together, the workshop enhanced participants’ ability to understand climate action, nurture green entrepreneurship, and equip youth with the skills needed to build sustainable livelihoods.

Through interactive learning and collaboration, facilitators deepened their understanding of 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞, 𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐲 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭. Sessions covered key areas such as 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧, 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐬, 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠-𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦 𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐬𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲. Altogether, the workshop strengthened 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬, 𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐮𝐫𝐬 toward 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬.

The Youth Green Entrepreneurship Development Project, under the 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐞, aims to equip young people with leadership and entrepreneurship skills—including green entrepreneurship—to foster entrepreneurial thinking and ambition among youth, empowering them to contribute meaningfully to a more sustainable future.

We recently conducted several sessions in Dhaka as part of the British Council Partner Schools 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 (𝐂𝐏𝐃) 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐞.

This year, around 𝟭,𝟰𝟬𝟬 teachers from 𝟳𝟬 schools across Bangladesh are participating in this initiative. Teachers who completed the Classroom Management course through our Online Support for Schools platform were selected for face-to-face sessions on Formative Assessment.

Led by British Council Master Trainers Sana Shahid, Iffat Ara Khanam, Murshida Begum, and Fazle Muniem, the sessions focused on effective assessment techniques, understanding student learning, and promoting inclusive classroom practices.

The programme also encourages collaboration and will recognise outstanding participants with Special Recognition Awards later this year.

This weekend, Dialogues in Coexistence: Shaping Inclusive Public Spaces in the Bengal Delta opens in Dhaka, supported by the British Council’s Women of the World (WOW) Bangladesh 2026 programme.

Led by architects Saiqa Iqbal Meghna and Suvro Sovon Chowdhury, the exhibition explores how architecture can respond to climate realities while fostering inclusive, gender-sensitive public spaces.
