AMIE Engineers Bangladesh

@ একটি ছোট্ট বিষয় নিয়ে লিখবো বলে মন স্থির করেছি অনেক দিন আগে থেকে কিন্ত লিখার সময় পাচ্ছিলাম না। AMIE ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং সম্পূর্ণ ভিন্ন ধাঁচের ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং পড়াশুনা। এখানে মাত্র ১৬ টি কোর্সে পাশ করতে হয়, সময় সর্বনিম্ন ২ বছর থেকে সর্বচ্চ ১৫ বছর। অন্যান্য ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং এ যেখানে ৪০-৪৫ টি কোর্স পড়তে হয়, সেখানে এএমআইই তে মাত্র ১৬ টি কোর্স পড়তে হয়, প্রাকটিক্যাল কোর্স নাই, কোন প্রোজেক্ট বা থিসিস নাই, ইচ্ছামতো যেকোনো সংখ্যক পরীক্ষায় অংশগ্রহণ করা যায় !!! আপাত দৃষ্টিতে অনেক সহজ একটি ডিগ্রি কোর্স, কিন্তু বাস্তব দৃষ্টিকোন থেকে অনেক কঠিন !!! পাশের হার ১৫ % এর নিচে !!! গত OCTOBER-২০১২ SEMISTER এ সারা বাংলাদেশ থেকে মাত্র ২৭ জন শিক্ষার্থী এএমআইই কমপ্লিট করতে পেরেছে !!! আর মাত্র ৪৬ জন শিক্ষার্থী সেকশন-এ কমপ্লিট করতে পেরেছে !!! রেজাল্ট এর অবস্থা তো আরও শোচনীয় !!! সারা বাংলাদেশের মধ্যে ফার্স্ট হয়েছেন নুরুল ইসলাম (S/47085) আর তিনি পেয়েছেন জিপিএ ৩.৪৪ এবং এবং সেকেন্ড হয়েছেন হাসান মাহমুদ (S/43265) আর তিনি পেয়েছেন জিপিএ ৩.১৬ !!! উল্লেখ্যঃ, সারা বাংলাদেশে ফার্স্ট ক্লাস প্রাপ্ত শিক্ষার্থী মাত্র দুই জন !!! আর সেকশন-এ এর রেজাল্ট এর তো আরও ভয়াবহ অবস্থা !!! কেউ ফার্স্ট ক্লাস পাইনি !!! সর্বচ্চ জিপিএ পেয়ে সারা বাংলাদেশের মধ্যে ফার্স্ট হয়েছেন মোঃ আব্দুল্লাহ আল মামুন (S/47705) আর তিনি পেয়েছেন জিপিএ 2.94 !!! এবং সেকেন্ড হয়েছেন সুস্মিতা বড়ুয়া (S/43680) আর তিনি পেয়েছেন জিপিএ 2.75 !!! এপ্রিল-২০১২ সেমিস্টার এ সারা বাংলাদেশ এএমআইই তে সব মিলিয়ে ১০০০ এর উপর শিক্ষার্থী ভর্তি হয়েছে, এবং প্রতি সেমিস্টার এই ভর্তিকৃত শিক্ষার্থীর সংখ্যা এর কাছাকাছি থাকে । তাহলে আপাত দৃষ্টিতে অনেক সহজ একটি ডিগ্রি কোর্স, বাস্তব দৃষ্টিকোন থেকে অনেক কঠিন কেন ? কেন এত কমসংখক শিক্ষার্থী এএমআইই কমপ্লিট করছে ? কেন এএমআইই এর রেজাল্ট এর এই দুরাবস্থা ? অল্পকিছু সফল, বাকি গুলোর বিফলতার কারন কি?

@ বাংলাদেশে এর আগে ভাল গাইডবই কেন, কোন কোর্সের উপর হ্যান্ডনোট খুঁজে পাওয়াটাই ছিল দুষ্কর !!! বিভিন্ন ইন্ডিয়ান রাইটার দের বই ফলো করা হয় এএমআইই তে, কিন্তু তা থেকে এ+ পাবার মত বা ভাল রেজাল্ট করার মত প্রশ্ন কমন পাওয়া ছিল নিতান্তই সৌভাগ্যের ব্যাপার !!! হ্যা, পাশ করার মত প্রশ্ন কমন পাওয়া যেত, কিন্তু বর্তমান চাকুরীর বাজারে শুধু টেনেটুনে পাশ করে কি আর গ্রহণযোগ্যতা মেলে ? “এস এম তালহা জুবায়েদ” রচিত “এএমআইই ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং ফিজিক্‌স” আর “বেসিক ফ্লুয়িড মেকানিক্স” কোর্স দুইটির উপর যে গাইড বই দুইটি বের হয়েছে, তা বাংলাদেশে এই প্রথম!!! আমার জানা মতে, এই দুইটা গাইড বই থেকে যথাক্রমে ৯৭ ও ১০২ মার্কস এর প্রশ্ন হুবহু কমন পড়েছে ! এটা এএমআইই শিক্ষার্থীদের জন্য অবশ্যই খুশির খবর, কারন ভাল রেজাল্ট করার জন্য প্রয়োজনীয় উপাদান এই গাইড বই দুইটির মধ্যে আছে। আর বই দুইটি ভাল মত পড়তে পারলে কমন পরা নিয়ে বা এ+ নিয়ে দুশ্চিন্তা করার প্রয়োজন হবে না বলেই আমার বিশ্বাস। এএমআইই বাংলাদেশে সেই পাকিস্তান আমল থেকে চালু আছে, কিন্তু আজ পর্যন্ত এএমআইই ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং টাকে সহজ করে তোলার জন্য কেউ আগিয়ে আসেননি, আসতে চাননি। কেউ কোন বই বা গাইড বই লেখেননি, বাংলাদেশে গাইড বই লিখে এএমআইই ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং টাকে সহজ করার এমন বিকল্প চিন্তা ভাবনা করার মত লোকের অভাব নেই, অভাব আছে সেগুলি বাস্তবায়ন করার মত লোকের। অনেকে এএমআইই এর কোচিং খুলে দিব্যি টাকা কামাই করে যাচ্ছে বহু বছর ধরে, হাতে লেখা, ভুলে ভরা বহু বছর আগের হ্যান্ডনোট দিয়ে তারা তাদের কাজ চালিয়ে নিচ্ছে, গৎবাধা কয়েকটা প্রশ্ন সংবলিত ভুলে ভরা অস্পষ্ট হ্যান্ডনোট শিক্ষার্থীদের হাতে তুলে দিয়ে তারা তাদের দায়িত্ব শেষ করছে, শিক্ষার্থীদের কোন উপায় নেই, গৎবাঁধা পড়াশুনা করে পরীক্ষার হলে গিয়ে, প্রশ্নের প্যাটার্ন দেখে কিছুটা হতাশ হয়ে খাতা কেটে দিয়ে পরের বার আবার পরীক্ষায় অংশগ্রহণ করে কোনমতে টেনেটুনে পাশ করে পরের কোর্স শুরু করে। এভাবেই ১৬ টি কোর্সে পাশ করে কোনমতে ২.৭৫-২.৫০ বা তার আশেপাশে রেজাল্ট করে তাতেই খুশি !!!

@ ভাল বই আমাদের পড়ার আগ্রহ বাড়িয়ে তোলে, এ বিষয়ে বোধহয় মৃত মানুষও আপত্তি করবে না। এএমআইই তে প্রশ্নকর্তাগণ কোন জায়গা থেকে যে প্রশ্ন করেন, তা একমাত্র তারা এবং মহান আল্লাহ মাবুদ জানেন। ইন্ডিয়ান রাইটারদের বই পড়ে কোন প্রশ্নের উত্তর কোন অংশটুকু হবে, কোন কোন প্রশ্ন পড়বে, কোন কোন অংক প্র্যাকটিস করবে, সেটি বুঝে ওঠা সম্ভব হয়ে ওঠে না অনেকের ক্ষেত্রেই। তবু, অনেক কষ্টে প্রস্তুতি নেওয়ার পর পরীক্ষার হলে কমন না পেলে এএমআইই পড়ার আগ্রহ থাকবে কি ? অধিকাংশ শিক্ষার্থীই হতাশ হয়ে যায়, আর এএমআইই পড়াশুনার প্রতি আগ্রহ হারিয়ে ফেলে। এমন গাইডবই থাকলে পড়ার আগ্রহ বাড়বে বলেই আমার বিশ্বাস। ভাল গাইডবই এএমআইই-ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং এর জন্য খুবই গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। যাদের মেধা, সময় আর আগ্রহ আছে, তারা যদি এএমআইই-এর উপরে গাইডবই লিখতে এগিয়ে আসে তাহলে, সবার জন্যই সেটা মঙ্গলজনক। তবে, আমরা সবাই তো আর গাইড বই লিখতে পারবো না, কিন্তু বাংলাদেশে কেউ এগিয়ে আসলে , আমরা তাকে এগিয়ে যেতে সহযোগিতা করতে পারি। এভাবেই এএমআইই ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং পড়াশুনা একদিন অনেক সহজ হয়ে উঠবে...

@ কেন এএমআইই রেজাল্ট এর এমন দুরাবস্থা?
@ ১. সুনির্দিষ্ট কোন ক্লাস নাই বিধায় এএমআইই কমপ্লিট করা অনেক কঠিন হয়ে দাড়ায়। সম্পূর্ণ ইংরেজি মিডিয়াম এ পড়াশুনা, নতুন জিনিস, নতুন পদ্ধতি, শিক্ষক ছাড়া, ক্লাস ছাড়া কমপ্লিট করাটা অনেক কঠিন হয়ে দাড়ায়।

@ ২. বিভিন্ন শিক্ষার্থী বিভিন্ন জায়গায় কোচিং করে বা প্রাইভেট পড়ে, কিন্তু মানসম্মত শিক্ষকের প্রচণ্ড অভাব বিধায় প্রস্তুতি নেওয়া অগোছালো থেকে যায়, কোনমতে ৫০-৬০ মার্কের প্রস্তুতি সম্পন্ন করে পরীক্ষার হলে গিয়ে ২৫-৩০ মার্কের উত্তর করে চলে আসতে বাধ্য হয়।

@ ৩. নির্দিষ্ট কোর্সের উপর নির্ভুল ও মানসম্মত হ্যান্ডনোট এর অভাব এএমআইই কমপ্লিট না করতে পারার সবচেয়ে বড় কারন। একজন চাকুরি জিবির পক্ষে নোট তৈরি করে পড়াশুনা করা যেমন অসম্ভব তেমনি ভাল হ্যান্ড নোট ছাড়া বা ভাল গাইড বই ছাড়া এএমআইই কমপ্লিট করা অসম্ভব ।

@ ৪. এএমআইই-এর সিলেবাস ভিত্তিক লেখা বইয়ের অভাব এএমআইই কমপ্লিট না করতে পারার আরেকটি বড় কারন। ভারতের এএমআইই সিলেবাস এর ভিত্তি করে লেখা বই বাংলাদেশের এএমআইই শিক্ষার্থীরা পড়ে থাকে, তাতে ৪০-৫০ মার্কের প্রশ্নের উত্তর করার মত সামর্থ্য তৈরি হয়, যদি বাংলাদেশের এ এম আই ই এর সিলেবাস অনুযায়ী বই বা গাইড বই থাকতো তাহলে প্রশ্ন কমন পাওয়ার পরিমান তা বাড়ত। পাশের হার এবং ভাল রেজাল্ট এর পরিমানটাও বাড়ত বলেই আমার বিশ্বাস।

@ ৫. কার্যকরভাবে অন্যের সংগে যোগাযোগ করতে পারা সফলতার পূর্বশর্ত, কিন্তু এএমআইই শিক্ষার্থীদের মধ্যে পারস্পরিক যোগাযোগ এর অভাব খুবই প্রকট। যারা পাশ করে বের হয়ে যায়, তাদের সাথে তো যোগাযোগ করাটা বর্তমান শিক্ষার্থীদের কাছে চাঁদে যাবার মতই ব্যাপার !!! আর যারা এএমআইই পড়ছেন, তাদের মধ্যে অন্যদের সাথে যোগাযোগ করতে একটা অনিহা পরিলক্ষিত হয়। এছাড়া ইঞ্জিনিয়ার্স ইন্সটিটিউশন থেকে কারো সম্পর্কে কোন তথ্য প্রাপ্তি সম্ভব হয়ে ওঠে না। যার ফলে, অতিত, বর্তমান এবং ভবিষ্যৎ শিক্ষার্থীদের মধ্যে COMMUNICATION GAP রয়েই যায় যা এএমআইই কমপ্লিট না করতে পারার আরেকটি বড় কারন বলে আমি মনে করি।

@ ৬. এএমআইই কমপ্লিট না করতে পারার আরেকটি কারন হোল, পরিকল্পনাহীন ভাবে পড়াশুনা করা। অধিকাংশ এএমআইই শিক্ষার্থীর –ই তার নিজের পড়াশুনা নিয়ে সুনির্দিষ্ট কোন পরিকল্পনা নেই, আর এএমআইই কমপ্লিট না করতে পারার এটা আরেকটি বড় কারন। এএমআইই কমপ্লিট করার জন্য ১৫ বছর সময়সীমা থাকায় অনেকটা পরিকল্পনাহিনতা কাজ করে শিক্ষার্থীদের মধ্যে, কিছুটা গা ছাড়া ভাব !!! যদি এমন হতো, নির্দিষ্ট সংখ্যক বিষয় নির্দিষ্ট সময়ে পরীক্ষা দিতে হবে, তাহলে শিক্ষার্থীদের মধ্যে পরিকল্পনা অনুযায়ী নিয়মিতভাবে পড়াশুনা করার মানসিকতা তৈরি হতো, যা এএমআইই কমপ্লিট করার জন্য অপরিহার্য।

@ ৭. অধিকাংশ শিক্ষার্থী এএমআইই কমপ্লিট না করতে পারার আরেকটি কারন হোল এএমআইই ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং পড়াশুনা-টাকে সিরিয়াসলি না নিয়ে ঢিলেঢালা ভাবে পড়াশুনা করা । পরীক্ষা দিতেই হবে এমন “ন্যূনতম সাবজেক্ট সংখ্যা” নির্দিষ্ট নয় বলে আরামপ্রিয় বাঙালি এএমআইই শিক্ষার্থীরা মেধা থাকা সত্ত্বেও পরিশ্রম করে না।

@ ৮. পরীক্ষায় অংশগ্রহণ নিজের ভুল ভ্রান্তি সংশোধন এবং নিজের প্রস্তুতি যাচাই করার সুযোগ দেয়। কিন্তু অনুরুপ পরীক্ষায় অংশগ্রহনের সুযোগ না থাকায় অধিকাংশ শিক্ষার্থী নিজের প্রস্তুতির অবস্থা যাচাই না করেই মূল পরীক্ষায় অংশ গ্রহণ করতে বাধ্য হয়।

@@@ সংক্ষেপে বলা যায়, “সুপরিকল্পনার সাথে মানসম্মত গাইডবই বা টেক্সটবই অনুসরন করে নিয়মিত ক্লাস ও অনুরুপ পরীক্ষায় অংশগ্রহণ, এএমআইই ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং পড়াশুনা-টাকে সিরিয়াসলি নিয়ে নিয়মিতভাবে পড়াশুনা-র মাধ্যমেই আপনি অর্জন করতে পারেন এএমআইই ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং ডিগ্রি”@@@

"Welcome to Engineering world!!! The Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers (popularly known as AMIE) is a professional certification given by Institution of Engineers (Bangladesh). AMIE is considered as B.Sc engineering equivalent degree from any Govt. Universities. AMIE is also recognized by UK-NARIC as British Bachelor's Honors degree***. AMIE is also recognized by FCSA (Foreign credential service of America) as equivalent to Bachelor's degree in engineering. So, if you can complete your AMIE Degree successfully, you will be a B.Sc Engineer!!! Then you can admit in BUET, KUET, CUET, RUET, DUET & any university in Home & Abroad for pursuing M.Sc Engg Degree. For taking scholarship, you need at least CGPA-3.25. But there are no class facilities in Bangladesh. That is why, most of the AMIE students cannot complete their entire program. The passing rate of AMIE degree is below 15%!!! You can select any one branch of engineering from 4 technology named as Electrical, Mechanical, Civil & Chemical Engineering. There are two Sections named Section-A & Section-B in every branch of engineering. There are 8 subjects in each sections & each of 100 marks. Minimum Marks to be passed is 40. To earn A.M.I.E degree, CGPA Must be at least 2.25. To admitt in IEB for persuing A.M.I.E degree, it requires Diploma in Engineering degree with CGPA 3.25 or H.S.C having GPA 4.00 with 2 years job experience in any engineering farm."

সবাই একটি কমন Question করে থাকে। এ এম আই ই পরে কোথায় উচ্চশিক্ষা নেওয়া যাবে?
নিচে এ সম্পর্কে বিস্তারিত দেওয়া হল। উল্লখ্য, এখানে শুধু ভারতীয় বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়সমুহের নাম দেওয়া হয়েছে। ভারত ছাড়াও জার্মানি , মালয়েশিয়া, সুইডেন, কানাডা সহ বিভিন্ন দেশে উচ্চ শিক্ষার জন্য যেতে পারবেন।

M.E./M.Tech. After AMIE/AMIETE

Today we are living in the world of specialization. Although college engineering curricula at B.E./ B.Tech level contains many basic courses, there are some specialised courses available in some good Universities in India at M.E./M.Tech level. In order to get access to these courses you have to qualify GATE ( Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) with a good score. GATE is normally conducted on second Sunday in February. The notification for GATE is generally published in October.

Getting good percentile score in GATE opens gateway to higher education with attractive scholarship. GATE qualified candidates( in Engineering subjects) will also be eligible for the award of Junior Research Fellowship in CSIR Laboratories.

ELIGIBILITY
Obtained a bachelor’s degree in Engineering from a Government recognised University( final year students may also apply); or Candidates with professional qualification like AMIE and those who have completed Section A or equivalent of such professional degree courses.

After having a valid GATE score, an AMIE should apply for admission to postgraduate programmes in individual institutions, at appropriate time. Admissions of candidates to postgraduate programmes will be governed by the rules and regulations of individual institutions to which they apply.

An AMIE should also be equipped with no objection certificate which can be obtained from the last institution( The Institution of Engineers, Kolkata for AMIE aspirants) attended by you as a regular student.

Important Dates:
Availability of GATE forms: September, third week
Last Date for filling up forms: October, last week
Exam Date: 2nd Sunday of February
Results: March 31st
The question paper will consist of only objective type questions. Each question will have four choices for the answer. Wrong answers carry negative marks. The deduction for each wrong answer will be 1/3rd or 2/3 depending on type of question of the allotted marks. Each paper is of 65 question (maximum 100 marks ).
Results of qualified candidates in GATE will give All India Rank and indicate percentile score. For example, a percentile score of 99 means you are in the top 1% category of the candidates who appeared for GATE.
Candidates who get less than 70 percentile get no score card.
GATE scores are valid for 2 years. You may reappear the GATE exam if you are not satisfied with the earlier score and the new score (if better than the old one) will be used for admission purposes.

After the Exam, what next:
After publication of GATE results, students must apply to individual Institutes to get their application forms.
Institutes advertise M.Tech admissions in leading newspapers from 1st April till end July. However some Institutes do not advertise and therefore students have to get the forms themselves.
In the application forms, you have to mention your GATE score alongwith other details.
The concerned Institute may conduct written test and/or interview for the purpose of admission.
General thumb rules: If your Gate score in Computer Science is 96 percentile or more then you can try for IITs, if between 85 - 96 percentile, then apply for top RECs, JADAVPUR, SHIBPUR, ROORKEE, etc. If less than 85, you have to look for appropriate institutes; YES we want you to get 85 and above only!!

Scholarship:

During the pursuit of M.Tech, you are paid a scholarship of Rs. 5000.00 per month by the Government of India. This amount is enough for living expenses including purchase of books, etc. The scholarship is paid for the entire 18 months M.Tech period.
